Scór na mBunscoileanna
Details have now been circulated to all schools in the County about Scór na mBunscoileanna. Last year 17 schools took part at two venues. This year it is hoped to run a North Leitrim event if enough schools are willing to take part. So we are particularly asking North Leitrim schools to take part in a least a few events. Some items are more easily organised than others, solo singing, solo dance, solo music, recitation and question time are relatively easy to get going. The two South Leitrim events are scheduled for Thursday 6 November in Ballinamore and on Friday 7 November in St Marys Hall, Carrick on Shannon. The North Leitrim event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 5 November.

Scór Sinsear
It may seem a long way off but club Scór officers are often asking early about Scór Sinsear dates. Well dates have been set and are as follows. Semi-finals on 6th and 7th March with the Co Finals on 14 March 2009
40 years of Scór Sinsear
This is the 40th year of Scór, it all started in 1970 on a small scale and of course is now the biggest cultural event of the winter months. It is expected that all clubs will make a greater effort to participate in this the 40th year. It is also planned to have some special events to mark the occasion.

The Scór community was saddened to learn of the death of Josephine Brogan last week. Josephine was a stalwart of the Aughnasheelin Novelty Act team and won a County Scór title in Nuachleas with Aughnasheelin in 2006. Go ndéana Dia trócaire uirthí.
