Scór na mBunscoileanna finishes
The final night of Scór na mBunscoileanna took place in Manorhamilton on Friday last and was a great success. This was a new venture in that it was the first time to run a Scór na mBunscoileanna event specifically for North Leitrim schools and it was very well supported and greatly appreciated by all in attendance. Five schools took part: St Clares, Manorhamilton, Four Masters, Kinlough, Leckaun, Gaelscoil Chluainín and Glenfarne.
In order to promote Scór na mBunscoileanna there were a few differences between the event in Manorhamilton and the South Leitrim events. Schools were allowed to put in unlimited items in all events and there was no adjudication or no winners declared except in Trath na gCeist. St Clares School were particularly well represented and they had no less than eight teams in Tráth na gCeisteanna plus two from Four Master, Kinlough. One of the St Clares teams won by one mark from Four Masters. All the participants got certificates in recognition of having taken part, so there were no disappointed participants. Bhí se ana dheas, freisinÓgaelscoil Chluainín a fheiceáil agus bhí Nuachleas deas acú ann agus bhíodar páirteach i gceithre roinn den chlár.
This year was another year of great progress for Scór na mBunscoileanna. The number of schools participation was up from 16 last year to 19 this year. Míle buíochas do na múinteoirí go háirithe agus do gach duine a chabhraigh.
