No Minor Joy For Donal
The M Donnelly Minor 60×30 Championship came to a conclusion on Saturday in Abbeylara when Donal Wrynn took on Limericks Paudi Quish in the All-Ireland Final.
The Fenagh clubman entered the game having scored historic All Ireland Minor 40×20 singles and 60×30 doubles triumphs but in the newly crowned Minor Hardball SIngles champion, he found a bridge too far. Paudi Quish, who still has another year in this grade, gave a superb exhibition of 60×30 play with his fly killshots and slicing spins down the sides of the court thrilling his large Limerick support. He won the opener 21-3 and lead by 12-2 in the second. Wrynn did fire up a few top class long range corner kills to close the deficit and he did serve at 8-12 but Quish quickly found his gears again and closed out the match at 21-9.
