AIB Connacht Club Senior Football Championship
Our Leitrim Senior Football champions Melvin Gaels take to the road in Connacht against defending Connacht senior champions, St. Brigids of Roscommon in Kiltoom this Sunday at 2.30pm.
The Gaels are back in the Connacht championship for the first time since 1998, having beaten defending Leitrim champions, Glencar Manorhamilton by six points (2-7 to 0-7) in the county final. St. Brigids completed their second three-in-a-row since 2005 in Roscommon when they beat Padraig Pearses by 2-8 to 0-9 in their county final and of course have won the AIB Connacht Club Senior Football Championship for the last two years.
Next Sundays winners will take on Salthill-Knocknacarra (Galway) in the Connacht semi-final on November 11 while the other semi-final will feature Ballaghaderreen (Mayo) v Curry (Sligo).
We take this opportunity to wish Melvin Gaels the very best of luck and urge supporters of Leitrim GAA to make the trip to Kiltoom in support of our County Champions.
