Bornacoola GAA Club Notes 02/01/2018
Charity Game – Well done to all who played in our Charity game on New Year’s Day and to the large crowd who supported it. A word of thanks also to the organisers and in particular to Trevor Howard. Over €1300 was raised on the day for the North West Hospice. Our thanks also to Ray McBrien who refereed all three matches.
Darragh Healy RIP – The tragic passing of young player Darragh Healy just before Christmas cast a long shadow over the club throughout the festive season. Darragh was a quiet but popular member of the Junior squad over the past few years and will be sorely missed by his many friends and teammates. The GAA club were part of the guard of honour at his funeral in Rooskey and all club activities planned for the week of his passing were cancelled as a mark of respect. To his mother Irene and his extended family, we offer our deepest sympathies. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sé.
