Thank You – Ronan Kennedy wants to offer sincere thank you to everyone who donated to his Zambia fundraising project on the night of the Dinner Dance and also everyone who has been n contact since with well wishes and donations. Ronan is going to Zambia in April to work with disabled children and is seeking to raise 10K this year. Any help or donations are much appreciated.
Cash for Clobber – The ladies in our club are collecting Clothes, bags, belts etc, etc and people are asked to deposit their goods in the clubrooms on Saturday morning from 10 to 12.
County Award – Well done to Caillin Canning who collected his Club Player of the Year award on Saturday last at the County Board Awards night. He also collected his Junior Connacht medal as did Alan Armstrong. Congrats to all those young men
County Team – The County boys waited for the last 10 minutes to give the large crowd something to cheer about and in those final moments they scored 3-4 to give Laois a slight fright. The last few minutes of the game should give the players a bit of confidence for the next game and let them throw caution to the wind.
National GAA Draw – The tickets from Croke Park only arrived this week so it will be this week before our volunteers will get selling. There are some great prizes all donated by GAA Headquarters which include a car, All Ireland Hurling and football packages, Great shopping vouchers. The Club is hoping to make big improvements in the Park this year which will be to the benefit to all the community.
Teresa Moran RIP – The club commiserates with the family of Teresa Moran (nee Leogue) whose untimely death occurred last week. Teresa who was in the prime of her life and Principal of Cloone NS, was a Mohill native and her husband John was a popular teacher in Marian College.
