St Patrick’s Dromahair GAA Club Notes 28/02/2018
Club Member’s Draw – January results – €300 Tom O’Bryan, €200 Martin McHugh, €150 Hughie Clinton, €100 Adrian McPadden
Underage Results – Our 15-a-side U13 team showed good character to put a disappointing loss last weekend behind them to record a great win over Melvin Gaels on Sunday. Well done lads. Our U17 team’s fixture vs Drumkeeran was postponed due to a bereavement.
Division 4 – Our Junior team have their first fixture in Division 4 next weekend away to Mohill. Venue and time TBC. Keep an eye on social media and group text for confirmation.
Leitrim GAA – Congratulations to Brendan and team on a fantastic win vs Limerick on Sunday.
Club Trip – Our U9 and U11 teams travel to Croke Park next Saturday to attend the Dublin vs Kerry match in what we hope will be a memorable experience for them. Thank you to all coaches and parents who are travelling with the boys and huge credit has to go to Kenny Casey for organising the trip. Hopefully, the weather doesn’t disrupt the plans!
Culture – Tá an-áthas ar chlub Naomh Pádraig, C.L.G. Droim Dhá Thiar bheith mar an gcéad chlub i gCo. Liatroma cláraithe i scéim nua chun an Ghaeilge a chur ar aghaidh. Fondúireacht Sheosaimh Mhic Dhonncha atá i gceist. As the old Irish proverb goes: Diaidh ar ndiaidh a thógtar na caisleáin (which roughly translates as ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’), táimid ag iarraidh teanga na nGael a thógaint ar ais agus í a úsáid, nó beidh sí marbh! Watch out for a series of interesting events related to our culture agus an Ghaeilge i nDroim Dhá Thiar go luath.
Operation Transformation – Operation Transformation 5K run/walk will take place on Sunday 4th March at 1pm in Dromahair Park. Registration from 12.30pm. The run/walk is free to Operation Transformation participants and €5 for anyone else who would like to take part.
