Allen Gaels GAA Club Notes 26/03/2018
Dunnes Bar Division 2 – We kick off our league campaign with a home game against Mohill on Easter Sunday at 12noon in the park. Best of luck to the lads so please turn out to support the team & new management.
Swan Bar Division 3: The lads lost out to Fenagh n Fenagh on Saturday in an exciting match on a scoreline of 3-10 to 2-10. We have no Division 3 game this weekend.
Newtowngore Engineering U-17 League – The U-17’s had a good win over Mohill at home on Saturday morning on a scoreline of 2-14 to 0-08. We play Ballinamore Sean O’Heslins at home on Wednesday the 28th and host St. Marys on Wednesday week. Best of luck to Mickey, Fergus, Noel and the team in the remaining games.
Barna Recycling U-13 League – The U-13’s had no game last weekend and we play Fenagh St Caillians on Easter Monday at 6:30pm in the park. Best of luck to Cyril, Kenneth, Richard & the lads.
St. Francis Ladies – The ladies next game is away to Mohill on Sunday week. Best of luck to Paul, Gareth & the team.
U-14 Girls – The girls play Glencar Manorhamilton this week. The game is not yet confirmed but it’s a home fixture & will possibly be played on Good Friday so please check in advance with team officials. Best of luck to the squad & to Dermot & Ruth.
Underage Coaching – The Saturday morning sessions are back in the park on Saturday mornings at 10am for boys U-7 to U-11 & girls U-7 to U-12. All membership should now be paid if anyone missed out on the registration please contact Neil Nolan immediately.
U-11 Boys – Well done to the boys who played 2 matches against St. Josephs at halftime during the Leitrim game in Pairc Sean on Sunday. A special thanks to coaches Stephen McWeeney & John Nolan and to all the parents who helped out on the day. Thank you also to James Glancy & Enda Lyons for their help in organising the games. The Club was disappointed to hear that James has stepped down as Games Development Officer in the county and wish him every success in his future endeavours.
Mothers and Others – Gaelic Football training has resumed on Wednesdays in The Mayflower at 8pm. Anyone with an interest in learning new skills or those who may have played previously are welcome to join. It’s a great opportunity to get fit, have fun and make new friends! All are welcome.
Table Quiz – St. Francis Ladies would like to thank everyone who supported the table quiz in the hotel last Friday night on what was a very enjoyable evening’s entertainment.
25 Card Drive – Allen Gaels 25 Card Game continues every Sunday evening in Aras Phadraig at 8:30pm. Refreshments served. All welcome.
Lotto – There was no winner of the lotto jackpot & the numbers drawn were 06-19-21-25. The 5 prize winners of €20 each were: Rose Deane, Keadue; Roswitha Verstege, Gortnawaun; Maura Nangle, Geevagh; Geraldine Heeran, Drumshanbo and Terry Fitzpatrick, Sligo. The jackpot now stands at €3,700.
Allianz NFL Division 4 – Well done to Diarmaid & the Leitrim squad on their victory over Wicklow in Carrick last Sunday.
