Soccer Success for Muireann – We extend congratulations to club player Muireann Devaney (St Clare’s Comprehensive School and Manor Rangers) who was part of the Ireland FAI U15 Schools Soccer team who won the Bob Docherty Cup today in Belfast with Muireann scoring the equaliser in their 2-1 victory.
Wedding Bells – Congratulations to Grainne McTernan and Ruairi Lynch who were married on St Patrick’s Day in Glencar. We wish the happy couple many years of health and happiness.

U12 Girls – Training for this group of players takes place every Saturday morning at 9am at St Clares NS Astro. Contact Brendan McLaughlin for further information.
Newtowngore Engineering and Barna Recycling Underage Fixtures – Weekend fixtures will be published on our Club Facebook Page. On Saturday last our U13’s and U17s were both in action. Hard luck to the U17s who lost in an away fixture to Drumkeerin and our U13s who found Mohill too strong in the Bee Park.
Club Membership – Club membership is now over-due. Any players still to pay must do so immediately. Club supporters are invited to join. Rates for the year U10 Girls & Boys and U11 Boys (non-competitive grades) – €30 for 1st child & remaining family members at these two age groups €20, U12-U18 Girls – €40, U13-U18 Boys – €40, Adult Players – €80 and Non Playing Club Members €30.
Leitrim – Hard luck to the Leitrim hurlers who agonisingly lost out after extra timer to Lancashire in the League Final on Sunday in Ballyconnell. Well done to the Leitrim footballers on their home win over Wicklow.
Club Academy – Our Club Academy for U7s, U9s and U11’s continues on Friday nights. Venue is weather dependent and will be notified to parents and posted on our Facebook page. €2 each or €5 max per family. New players are joining every week so feel free to bring your children along to join in the fun and games.
Academy Tournament Finals – Under lights, our 7-10 year old boys and girls lit up the stage by putting on an exhibition of football on Friday 16th March at our Academy Finals. We all admired how much they have developed as individual and team players throughout this tournament. What a credit they are to their families. We salute our players. Glencar Manorhamilton’s future is certainly shining bright. Special thanks to John Conlon for allowing us the use of the wonderful facilities of St Clare’s NS which are a credit to the staff, parents and Board of Management. Our parents are to be complimented for supporting our club by allowing their children to become valuable members, by providing encouragement to all players and coaches on an ongoing basis and of course for providing refreshments for everyone for the post-match reception and presentations. We were honoured to have Stuart Gilbride and Shane Devaney in attendance on the night to present the Sarah Gilbride Memorial Cup and the Devaney Family Memorial Cup. Both families are synonymous with our club and this link is a lasting legacy. Last but not least we are so fortunate to have coaches of the calibre of James Glancy, Dominic Kelly and Kevin McManus nurturing our crop of talent week in week out at this age group. We are indebted to them – Míle Buiochas lads.
Lotto – The Glencar Manorhamilton GAA Lotto draw took place in Killasnett Co-op on Thursday 22nd March. There was no winner of the jackpot. Numbers drawn 1, 17, 19, 29. The 5 winners of €30 were Padraig McGloin, Drummonds (Yearly Ticket), Ciaran Treanor, Manorhamilton, Shane D’Arcy, Glencar, Maria Carty, Derrylin and Vincent McDonald, Glencar. Next Jackpot €3,325.
