Mohill GAA Club Notes 12/03/2013
Ann Guckian RIP – The club extends sympathy to the family of Mrs. Ann Guckian Hill St who passed away last week. Ann’s sons Padraig and Liam played in the 70s for Mohill and her grandchildren David, Paul, Stephen and Aisling Conaty were players in recent times. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sí
Swan Bar Div 4 – This was the first adult game of the year and we saw the emergence of some very young players and also the return of a not so old Phillip Casserly who promised that he would come back at some stage and play for Mohill. True to his word he played his heart out on Sunday last but Aughavas were the winners at the end of a very exciting encounter. Our panel and scorers was, J Farry, R Bohan, K Reilly, A Tuthill, P ONeill, P Casserly, C Baxter, L Rowley 0-1, J Reynolds, Jordan McGuinness 0-1, J McGuinness 0-1, S Kennedy 0-7, J Boyle 0-1, Niall Flynn, David Wynne, B Kilrane, J Barry,
Newtowngore Engineering U 17 – There is a shortage of players at this age group and considering we have three clubs involved at underage it is alarming to see only 14 players in Fenagh on Saturday. These young men played their hearts out, but Fenagh was the stronger team and ran out comfortable winners. The team was S Moran, F Cassells, L Ellis, C Quinn, J Murphy, C Keegan, N McNabola, S Bohan, B Donohue, C Macklin, D McCrann, C Wauhua, sub C Mulligan. Next Saturday we play St Mary’s in Mohill
Ladies – Nice to see the ladies winning their first game against Manorhamilton in heavy underfoot conditions at Bee Park.
Lotto – No winner of the Jackpot. The numbers drawn were 2-17-20-21. Lucky Dip winners were €70 Lorna Matthews Drumdoo, €40 Michelle Holohan Sligo, €20 May Tobin Treanmore.
Registration – There are still players not paying their registration so pay online or contact Therese Foy as soon as possible
