Kiltubrid GAA Club Notes 01/05/2018
National Spring Clean – Well done to our hearty band of Volunteers who took part in the National Spring Clean in conjunction with Leitrim County Council over the weekend. Areas covered in the Parish included Annadale, Drumawheel, Liscarbin, Drumcong, Carrickport, Letterfine and Curragha.
Annual Car Wash – Kiltubrid Ladies will be hosting their annual carwash this coming SATURDAY MAY 5th at Kiltubrid GAA Grounds from 10.30am – 2.30pm. Come along to get your car, van, jeep or even tractor shining and support our ladies in the process. Like, share and spread the word!
Swan Bar Division 4 – Our Division 4 team had a hard fought win against neighbours Leitrim Gaels with a score of 3:08 to 1:07. Well done to all involved!
Westlink Coaches Under 15 League – Well done to our Under 15 Boys who started the League with a win away to Melvin Gaels on Thursday evening. They have another game on Thursday 3rd of May in Dromahair.
Fundraising Video – In 2018 Kiltubrid GAA & Kiltubrid Ladies GAA clubs are undertaking a major fundraising drive to completely renovate our playing facilities, the hub of the community. Like many rural communities in Ireland, a great number of Kiltubrid people have left their native parish for pastures new to the four corners of Ireland and the world in search of employment and adventure. It is the Irish way.
We have produced this video with the intention of conveying the true meaning of what this small patch of ground means to us as a community. For those no longer living in the parish, hopefully, it invokes a sense of pleasant nostalgia and you can reminisce on the good times spent here.
We are calling out to our diaspora throughout the country and world to pull on the Kiltubrid jersey once again and assist us in creating a facility that we can be proud of, that the future generations of Kiltubrid men and women can be proud of. We need your help. We have set up a Fundraising page which enables you to donate towards our project. Any donation would be hugely appreciated.
It seems to be capturing the right attention as the website www.joe.ie has given us a great write up.
Remember if anyone especially our ExPats want to join the many others and support our Fundraising drive you can make a donation securely online via https://www.klubfunder.com/Clubs/Kiltubrid_GAA/memberdonate
“Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.”
Congratulations – Congratulations to our club player Mickey Earley and ladies club player Anja on the birth of their son Callum. We wish them all the best!
Kiltubrid GAA v Leitrim NY GFC – We’re delighted to announce that Kiltubrid will take on the Leitrim NY GFC on Saturday 5th May in Gaelic Park at 6pm in a curtain raiser to the Main Event on Sunday. This will be a great chance for Kiltubrid and Leitrim ExPats alike to see their home Club in action in this novel encounter. No doubt we will see lots of familiar ExPat faces at the game with a chance to don their Green and Red colours in their adopted Home.
Connacht Senior Championship – We would also like to wish Leitrim the very best of luck against New York on Sunday in Gaelic Park. We’re expecting all expats to support our boys in what is sure to be an exciting game!
