Drumkeerin GAA Club Notes 04/06/2018
Division 1 – Our senior men’s team played Saturday against Ballinaglera on Saturday evening. Final score was 1-08 to 1-08. After a slow start the lads were 1-05 to 0-02 down after about 20 minutes and were also down to 14 men. Just before half time the score was 1-05 to 1-03 after an important goal from James Gallagher (Creevelea). In tough conditions and with one man less for so long the team managed to level it and create some chances to win it. Even in the extremely wet conditions there was great support that helped lift the team, the team are unbeaten this year at home after three games. The teams will meet again in the Championship in late August. The league has another break now until the 30th of June when the team will be away to Mohill.
Division 3 – This Sunday, June the 10th, 12pm the team will be away to Eslin. It’s their third last game of the year and should be a good game. Best of luck to all involved and making the trip up.
U14 girls – Well done to our U14 girls who won their shield final, last Thursday evening, beating Mohill by a score of 9:09(36) to 2:10(16). They were a point down at half time but rallied on to victory. Well done all girls and their mentors David, PJ and Michelle.
Ladies Table Quiz – Drumkeerin Ladies had a table quiz last Friday in Davitts Bar. It was a great night with 14 tables supporting the event, thank you for the support. Thanks to Davitts for the use of their bar and to MC Gabriel Flynn who did a great job on the night.
Ladies Intermediate Championship – The ladies championship will start on the 15th of July when they will play Fenagh first.
The other teams in the intermediate championship are Mohill, Bornacoola/St Marys and St Francis and they will play them in that order.
