Mohill GAA Club Notes 26/06/2018
Mary Kennedy RIP – Mary Kennedy who died on Sunday morning last after a brave battle with illness was the beating heart of this club. Her attachment to her beloved Mohill knew no bounds. She was a trusted officer for many years and over the decades washed and patched thousands of jerseys. Mary was a feeder! Mohill would hardly have won our last few County titles without her unending supply of sandwiches and her large pots of pasta that would put any Italian mother to shame. She absolutely loved every one of our great young players and they have returned their love in full to her over the last few months. The club is indebted to her heartbroken family, her husband Johnny always on hand to help out, Róisín who keeps Scór alive in the Club and her three sons Seán, Ciarán and Ronan who are ever present in Pairc Philib Mhic Aonghusa. Mary’s two daughters-in-law Helen and Emer and her three grandchildren Cáit, Iarla and Keileigh have given her endless pleasure in the last year and her knitting needles were clicking away for the little ones. Their hearts are now broken, but they can be proud of a great mother who toiled endlessly at any task she was entrusted to. Ní beidh a leitheád arís ann. Rest in peace Mary. You will never be forgotten.
County Team – Congratulations to Leitrim on their big win over Louth on Saturday last and best of luck in the game with Monaghan this weekend. Our players Shane, Alan, James and Domhnaill will make their presence felt we are sure.
