Allen Gaels GAA Club Notes 03/07/2018
U-12 Cross Border League – The U-12’s defeated Mohill by a point in the Shield Final in Carrick last Thursday on a scoreline of 5-07 to 4-09. Well done to all the squad who celebrated captain Daniel O’Loughlin lifting the trophy. Congrats also to John Nolan, Cyril McKeon, Richard O’Loughlin & Stephen McWeeney who looked after the lads. We also take on Clonbroney in the Plate Final in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park on Saturday evening at 5:30pm so best of luck to all concerned.
Dunnes Bar Division 2 – After a break for inter-county fare the club league returns with a vengeance with over a quarter of the entire programme of matches being played in the next 7 days. We play Drumreilly away on Wednesday evening the 4th at 8:30pm followed by a home game against Glencar Manorhamilton on Sunday at 11:30am in the park and an away trip to Dromahair on Wednesday July 11th so best of luck to the team & management.
Kellogg’s Cul Camps – Please note that the summer coaching camp takes place in Drumshanbo next week from July 9th – 13th.
U-9’s – Well done to the U-9’s who took part in the half time blitz in Pairc Sean on Saturday.
Lotto – There was no winner of the lotto jackpot last week the numbers drawn were 05-18-19-27. The prize winners of €20 each were: Sile Tighe, Drumshanbo; Michelle Duignan, Drumcong; Connor & Michaela McDonagh, Drumshanbo; Maura Dwyer, Drumcong; The Smith Family, Drumshanbo. The jackpot now stands at €2,000.
Leitrim Seniors – Commiseration to Diarmuid McKiernan & the Leitrim squad & management after the Qualifier loss to Monaghan on Saturday
Leitrim Minors – Congratulations to Colin Moran & his team-mates and the management team on securing a rare championship win with victory over Sligo last week on a scoreline of 2-14 to 0-13.
Well done – Good to see Joe Keane home from Chicago in recent days and congratulations are in order as Joe’s son, Joey, was drafted last week by the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League. Joey is a regular visitor to Drumshanbo and of course nephew of club great, the late Gerry, who would have been very proud of his achievement.
Sympathy – The Club extends deepest condolences to the Kennedy Family and Mohill GAA on the very sad loss of Mary Kennedy who was laid to rest last week. Ar dheis De go raibh a h-anam dilis.
