Aughawillan GAA Club Notes 23/07/2018
Comhbhrón – It was with great sadness that we learned of the death over the weekend of our Club President Oliver Plunkett. Oliver was a proud Aughawillan man and a loyal supporter of the club all his life, through good times and bad. He played a very active role in the development of our playing pitch and clubrooms when first developed between 1978 and 1982. He was one of the many great people at the time who turned up week after week to do voluntary work before its official opening in May 1982. He continued to volunteer his time whenever anything was needed to be done for the club and to proudly support all Aughawillan teams, especially when his children and grandchildren were on the field of play. We offer our sincere sympathy to his wife Mary, daughters Geraldine, Ann and Maire, sons Sean and Ollie, sister Lilly, brother Pappy, nephews, nieces, grandchildren and the wider Plunkett family. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
