Senior & Junior A Championships – The Leitrim Football Championships commenced last weekend and our adult teams were out in the Connacht Gold Senior Championship and Pyramid Bookmakers Junior A Championship. Both teams were worthy winners with the Seniors defeating Aughnasheelin 2-16 to 0-8 and the Junior A’s accounting for Allen Gaels 2-21 to 1-6. This weekend the Seniors face neighbours Melvin Gaels in Round 2 in Páirc Seán on Saturday evening at 7pm with the game preceded by the senior encounter between Allen Gaels and St Mary’s. Our Junior B team take to the field on Sunday against Dromahair in the Pyramid Bookmakers Junior B Championship with the game fixed for Drumkeerin at 12 noon. Best of luck to both teams.
Senior and Junior Ladies Championship – Our Senior and Junior ladies teams are back in action this Sunday. Our Senior side face Oughteragh Gaels in Leitrim Village at 11am with a place in the Semi Final on offer for both sides depending on the result. The Manor ladies already have two points secured however a loss would leave the group positioning decided on the basis of scoring difference. Our Junior side will be looking to recover from the defeat to Keeldra Gaels as they take on Annaduff at 12.30pm at the same venue. The side will be eager to secure two points in their quest to reach the Junior Final. Best of luck to both teams and their management.
