Aughawillan GAA Club Notes 14/10/2018
Senior Championship – Aughawillan: Leitrim SFC Champions 2018! Congratulations & well done to all the players, management and backroom team who brought the Fenagh Cup back to Aughawillan for the 3rd time in 5 years! It was a massive achievement for the club who were the underdogs to beat one of the best teams in the county. With Mohill in the lead into the second half, they held their nerve and came out winners by 2 points, for captain Sean Quinn to lift the cup. Congratulations to Gary Plunkett who was Man of the Match and scored 5 points on the day. Aughawillan GAA would like to thank all the supporters from far and wide who sent good luck messages to us in various forms over the past couple of weeks from all over the world! Thank you to all those who were at the match and cheered the team over the line in Páirc Sean, a great sense of community spirit could be felt on the day and such support was instrumental in boosting the team when they needed it most!
