Fenagh St Caillin’s GAA Club Notes 16/10/2018
Smith Monumentals Intermediate Championship Final – It’s still all to play for after Sundays draw. The replay is fixed for 2pm next Sunday in Pairc Sean MacDiarmada. The occasion won’t be as busy as County Final day so it’s even more important that our supporters get there and cheer even louder this time around.
Congratulations – to Aughawillan on winning Sundays senior County Final. Commiserations to Mohill who played their part in an exciting game. Well done to Fenagh St Caillins clubman Patrick Guckian on a fine display of refereeing during the game.
Juvenile football – The club was represented by Seamus Flynn and Shane Hargaden at the half time mini games and in the flag parade in Pairc Sean on Sunday. Well done lads. On Saturday last our u9’s took part in the County Blitz in the Centre of Excellence and our u12’s played in the Clonguish GAA Shane Brennan tournament also on Saturday losing narrowly to the hosts in the final after drawing with Knockmore of Mayo and defeating Mountbellew Moylough from Galway.
Westlink Coaches u15 Championship – Fenagh St Caillins played Kiltubrid on Tuesday night and despite a spirited performance lost by 2.16 to 2.09 under the lights in Kiltubrid.
County Final Fundraiser Draw – This draw, which was scheduled to take place on Monday evening, has been postponed for a week due to the drawn encounter with Annaduff. There was a huge response from people in the local and surrounding areas as well as further afield and as far away as the US and Australia for which we are most grateful. There are still some boxes available if anyone hadn’t an opportunity to get one. Thank you sincerely to those who gave sponsorship towards the team in the lead up to Sunday’s game.
Church Gate Collection – The dates allocated for our annual church gate collection are Sat evening and Sunday morning next at St Mary’s Church Foxfield and Sunday morning at Gorvagh Church.
Fenagh Squash Club – Have you ever played squash? Would you like to take up a new sport for the winter months? All levels and abilities welcome. For more info contact Kieran on 0876294311 or Phil on 0863186572.
Sympathies – Fenagh St Caillins GAA Club wishes to express our sympathies to the family of the late Jim Meehan, Dromahair as well as to Dromahair GAA Club and Coiste Chontae Liatroma following his recent passing. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a ainm dílis.
