Glencar/Manorhamilton GAA Club Notes 15/10/2018
Leitrim Hurling Final – The blue riband day of Leitrim Hurling takes place this Saturday at 2pm in Ballinamore when the two giants of Leitrim hurling, Cluainín Iomaint and Carrick Hurling meet in the County Final. Our team have prepared diligently over the last number of months and all they ask of us is that we turn out in large numbers to get behind them on the day. Let’s answer their call. See you all in Ballinamore on Saturday as they battle for Leitrim hurling supremacy!
U15 Boys Championship – Our U15 boys lost their last group game to Mohill on Saturday but in any event have qualified for the semi-finals of the championship. They play the same opposition, Mohill in the semi this Sunday at 4pm. We wish the team and management of Dominic Kelly, Kevin McManus and Stuart Gilbride the very best of luck. Please show your support on the day.
County Final Day – We congratulate Aughawillan GAA on winning the Senior Championship on Sunday. Thank you to Leitrim GAA Coaching and Games Development team who organised the Blitz at halftime and the pre-match parade on County Final Day which involved nursery players from the clubs in Leitrim. Well done to Jay Loughlin and Darragh McMorrow who represented Glencar Manorhamilton GAA on the day.
Samhain Parade Cluainín 2018 – The Samhain Parade will take place on Friday 2nd of November at 7pm. After last year’s parade the committee were approached by many members of the audience who said they would love to have participated in some way. So this year they have outlined ways that more people from the community can take part. The platforms and opportunity for people to take part are as follows: 1/ Making costumes and props; There will be open workshops in the Leitrim Sculpture Centre every Tuesday and Wednesday from 11am until 4pm. These workshops will focus on the construction of props and costumes for the parade, using Hazel, Willow and mixed media. 2/ Participation in the Parade; There are a number of roles and characters in the parade to be filled and costumes will be provided. If anyone is interested please contact Patrick McEneaney via email at exitdoestheatre@gmail.com or pop into the Sculpture Centre on Tuesday or Wednesdays and ask how you can contribute.
