Mohill GAA Club Notes 29/10/2018
Under 15 Final – The Mohill Under 15 lads were hit with two goals in the first few minutes of this keenly contested final in Carrick on Sunday last. This sucker-punch had the boys playing catch- up for most of the game and the Allen Gaels side playing great football. But with ten minutes to go our boys threw off the shackles and scored 1-4 without reply to earn themselves a draw. This was a great comeback with the young players from Cloone, Eslin and Mohill giving it their all. The replay will be this weekend so we will be hoping to see a big crowd out to support. See fixtures for time and venue.
Big Draw – Due to events beyond our control the date of our Monster Draw is now set for Dec.1st. Sellers are out covering the parish and surrounding areas so be generous with your support.
County Final Sponsorship – The Club received great support from businesses and ordinary people in the run-up to the County final. It is hoped to have a full list of sponsors for next week’s notes in this paper.
New Baby – Congratulations to Dee and James Campbell on the birth of their baby boy at the weekend. We wish them all joy and happiness.
Walking Track – We thank Michael, Keith and Dearbhaille Beirne three of Ireland’s Fittest Family and Eanna Madden International Athlete who officially opened the Walking track around the park on Saturday last. They all gave their time to the young children doing an obstacle course, racing around the park and playing football. It was a wonderful occasion and everyone enjoyed the experience. There was also a sad note at the opening, as the Under 10s bade a sad farewell to young Joel Wuabah and his family as they head to Ennis. The family was well integrated into the town with Caleb playing Under 17 football and basketball, Joel playing Gaelic and Prince involved in soccer with Steve Macklin. We wish the family Good Luck wherever they go.
