Mohill GAA Club Notes 13/05/2019
Brendan Tyrrell RIP – The Club extends deepest sympathy to the Tyrrell family Treanmore on the death of Brendan in England last week. Brendan was a gifted underage footballer and won a Minor Championship with Mohill in 1954, he was called up to the County Minor panel the same year. He, unfortunately, had to emigrate to England in his teens. His grand- nieces and nephew, have all played for Mohill. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh sé.
I’m a Celeb – Fundraising is going well so far and in the last week two successful Pub Quiz were held. Aoife O Brien in Lynch’s of Kilclare and Padraig McLoughlin in Clarkes Front Bar, both well attended and Aoife and Padraig would like to thank all who contributed. Nicola Tully put many people through their paces in a Spinathon in Kilglass GAA Club rooms. Adrian McCaffrey held a very successful Darts Tournament in Cusacks and on Sunday morning the Ladies Club helped Charlene Tyrrell run a Cake Sale

Cash for Clobber – In conjunction with Mohill GAA fundraiser, I’m a Celeb, the club is running Cash for Clobber for the next few weeks. Bags of clean, re-wearable clothing, handbags, paired shoes, hats and belts can be left at Maureen Lynch’s Castlegardens before Wed. May 29.
Recent Engagement – We Congratulate Shane Canning player and senior selector who got engaged last weekend to Deborah Feery. We wish them every happiness in their life together.
County Game – Our County players came up against a rampant Roscommon team and the gulf between Div 1 and 3 was very obvious. There will be better times to come no doubt but it was not to be. Mohill’s representatives, Shane, Domhnaill and Oisín all did their utmost.
Also playing in Hyde Park – Well done to Tomás Mayock from St Manchan’s and Zara Sheahan from The Hunt School who played for Cumann na mBunscoil before the big game on Sunday last in Hyde Park.
Westlink Coaches Under 15 – This age group played St Joseph’s in Div1 and Leitrim Gaels in Div 2 last week. The boys fought gallantly but the opposition was very strong. This Thursday in Pairc Philib they meet St Brigids and on Friday they play neighbours Fenagh in Mohill at 5.30pm. On Monday they travel out to meet Gortletteragh.
Dunnes Bar Div1 Senior League – Our Div 1 are scheduled to play Aughnasheelin in Mohill on Saturday next at 7pm
