Healthy Clubs Special Recognition – The Club received special recognition at a ceremony with governmental representation in Croke Park at the weekend for being one of the first Clubs to take part in the “Healthy Clubs Initiative”. The Club will fly the ‘Healthy Club’ Flag at the club grounds as a result of their participation in this very worthwhile initiative
Well done to our Healthy club committee of Mary McSharry, Katherine Williams and Ciara Barrett. Congratulations also to Mary Rooney & Gareth Foley who initiated this project last year for Melvin Gaels. A word of thanks to all who helped or took part in any way in the project
Under 21 v Sean O Heslin’s – The Under 21s were beaten by the home side in Ballinamore in the first game of the Under 21(15a side ) Championship.
On Sunday next, they take on St Manachan’s in Melvin Park at 12noon. Good luck to all the players and mentors. Come out and support the young lads.
50/50 Draw – Congratulations to Kevin Mc Cann, Gubnageer, Rossinver who won €284 in last week’s 50/50 Draw. Get your ticket now for this week’s draw.
More people are needed to help with the Draw. The proceeds from the draw are for Bord na Nóg and the Senior Board. If anyone would like to help out just contact any of the Club committee. Anyone who wishes to join in the selling of tickets would only be needed once every six weeks.
Gaeltacht Scholarships – Leitrim Co Board GAA is offering grants for attendance at Gaeltacht courses to Leitrim boys and girls as part of their promotion of an Ghaeilge. These grants are open to registered members of Leitrim GAA clubs, boys or girls.
Some of the grants are part-sponsored by Gaeltacht colleges. In the case of cash grants, when students return they can claim their grant money on production of evidence of having successfully completed the course.
Application forms can be printed from the Leitrim GAA website www.leitrimgaa.ie by searching Gaeltacht Scholarships 2018 or can be had had from the Secretary of any GAA club.
