AGM – The Annual General Meeting for 2018 takes place in our club rooms in Dromod this Saturday evening, starting at 7.30pm. All members are invited to attend and anyone wishing to join up for 2019 is particularly welcome.

U20 Championship – Rinn Gaels faced St Marys in the U20 B Championship semi-final on Sunday morning last in Páirc Naomh Mhuire. Unfortunately St Marys were in control throughout and ran out comfortable 6-15 to 3-6 winners ending the Gaels’ interest in this year’s competition. Well done to all of the players from both Bornacoola and Gortletteragh for committing for this year’s competition.

Fashion Show – Our thanks to all who came to support the recent Fashion Show held in Lough Rynn Castle. A fabulous night of fashion was had, amazing style from all participating shops, local models of all ages strutting their stuff for the club. A very big thank you to everyone who took part, including the various shops, models, Hair Stylist, Make up Artists, Bornacoola GAA club members and their families who helped out back stage To all the sponsors of the raffle prizes and to all the staff at the lovely Lough Rynn, we say mile buíochas. Finally well done to the hardworking committee behind the scenes, led by Ann Mc Guinness, for pulling off yet another impressive occasion.

UNDER 20 CHAMPIONSHIP – Congratulations to St Manachan’s who defeated Sean O Heslin’ss Ballinamore in the L.H. Leitrim Under 20 championship at the weekend. Well done to the local contingent who are part of the panel.

Leitrim Sports Partnership – We congratulate all local nominees whose sporting achievements have been recognised by the public and Leitrim Sports Partnership.  The awards ceremony takes place this Saturday night in the Landmark Hotel and we hope everyone has a brilliant night of celebration.

Club Academy/U9s/U11s – Our Club Football Academy, U9 and U11 training will take place this Friday night at St Clare’s Comprehensive School. Times will be notified to parents.

Club AGM – Our Coiste na nÓg and Senior Board AGM’s will take place this Saturday night 24th of November in the Bee Park Community Centre.  The Coiste na nÓg AGM will take place at 7pm with the Senior directly afterwards at 8pm.  All documentation has been circulated to club members.  We urge players, members and those wishing to become new members to attend on the night to give input and help shape the future of our club.

Ladies AGM – A very well attended Ladies AGM took place in the Bee Park Community Centre last Friday night, 16thNovember.  Well done to the committee members, parents, managers and players for demonstrating great interest in their club by attending, contributing and volunteering on the night.

U16 Girls – Well done to our U16 Ladies team who claimed victory against Ballinamore Seán O’Heslin’s on Sunday last on a scoreline of 5-09 to 2-10 in a tight found, high paced game.  The girls finished the group stage in the number one position therefore claimed a place in the Cup Final.  Ballinamore Seán O’Heslins also qualify for the final and it promises to be an exciting affair.  Date and time are still to be confirmed – please check social media for further details.

Ladies Club History – In preparation for our club’s 50th anniversary in 2019, the ladies club are looking to dig out all old photos, match programmes, newspaper clippings or any other club memorabilia to help prepare a detailed history of the history of the ladies club. We are also trying to compile the names of all club officers/managers/club award winners since the club was formed – so if you were an officer/manager/award winner – please forward any information you can.  Please email any correspondence you have to glencarmanorladies@gmail.com.

Old Club Jerseys – We are looking for people to search out their wardrobes, garages and attics in search of old club jerseys which were used by our adult and juvenile football and hurling teams in the club (male and female) in the following decades – the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, 2000’s.  They are needed for our 50th club celebrations.  Please contact Collette Fox asap on 0866020192 if you can assist.

LOTTO – The next Lotto draw will be run by Fintan & Pauline’s Team which will be held in “The Dugout” on Saturday 24th November.  Jackpot is €12,200. Lotto envelopes €2 each or three envelopes for €5.

FUNDRAISING DRAW – Our annual fundraising draw tickets are now on sale.  Tickets are €20 each or a book of three for €50. 1stPrize €3,000, 2nd Prize €1,000 and 5 prizes of €100.  Tickets are available from all Club Officers.

 U20 – Hard luck to our St Joseph’s U20’s who were beaten by St Brigid’s in the semi final in Carrigallen last Sunday morning on a score line of 2-08 to 2-14.

 St Joseph’s Ladies U16’s – Congratulations to the U16’s girls who beat Fenagh in the County final in Kilturbid on Sunday last.  Well done to the team and management

AGM – This year’s AGM takes place on Sunday 2nd December at 3.30pm in The Depot. All members please attend. If anyone is interested in getting involved with the club let a club official know.
Scór – Scór na nOg Leitrim County Final takes place on Sunday 2nd December in The Mayflower, Drumshanbo. 2018 is Bliain na Gaeilge and 2019 marks the 50th year of Scor making the current year’s competition quite significant. All participation welcome.

Club AGM – The AGM will take place this Sunday November 25th at 4pm in the clubhouse.

U-16 Ladies – The girls had a good win over St. Brigid’s away on Saturday & will now play Keeldra Gaels this weekend in the Shield Final so best of luck to Ciara, Sinead & the team.

U-20 – Well done to the St. Manachans u-20 team who beat Ballinamore  in the LH Heating Leitrim Under 20 A Championship and now book a place in the final against Melvin Gaels which takes place on Sunday 25th in Pairc Sean at 12pm. Best of luck to the team and management.

Kiltubrid Lip Sync Legends – With a packed Landmark Hotel the Kiltubrid Lip Sync Legends lived up to its hype with a hugely enjoyable and entertaining night.  The variety of Acts that took to the stage showed the Weeks of hard work in rehearsals that were put in. All Acts were a credit to themselves last night and over the last few weeks.  Well done to the winner Kevin Meehan who really made “The Greatest Showman” Act his own and the crowd reacted wildly!!  The Acts were entertained in turn by our Judges and as always professional MC John Lynch  The night itself could not have happened without a strong organizing committee who worked selflessly over the last few months.  A full report on the night will be in next weeks Leitrim Observer.

Underage Presentation Award Night – thanks to Francis Davitt Planning for sponsoring hoodies for our u9s Academy and a special thank you to David Clarke who spoke very well. Thanks to David Moran and WillieDonnellann for taking memorable photos of the event. Well done to all teams on their award, it was a very enjoyable night with a great representation of all the families that make our club.

Dundalk Trip – Well done to our trip organisers on a very successful trip away to Dundalk. There have been several photos of the night posted on the club’s Facebook page. We hope all had a brilliant time and a special thanks to John McTiernan, Margaret Fee and Francis McPadden on organising it.

Junior Championship – Congratulations to the Junior team and managers Pat Flanagan & Pat Joe McNiffe on winning the Junior B Championship final last weekend. There was a great display of football put on by both teams, in particular, by many of our younger players who were outstanding all over the field. Well done to Peter Prior who won Man of the Match. A massive thank you to the big crowd that came to support the team on the day & see our captain Michael Prior lift Aughawillan’s second trophy of the year! U20 – Well done to St Brigid’s u20 team who defeated St Joseph’s last weekend. Score: St Brigid’s 2-14 St Joseph’s 2-8. They are now in the Final against St Mary’s. The game takes place at 12pm in Ballinamore and all support is appreciated!

Leitrim Sports Star Awards – Best of Luck to the Senior Team & Mark Plunkett who are both nominated for awards in the Leitrim Sports Star Awards, in the Senior Team & Senior Sports Individual categories respectively. The awards are held on November 24th in the Landmark Hotel, if anyone is interested in attending, please contact Michael Quinn by Wednesday evening. Tickets are €40 and include a 4 course meal.

Help build the “Leitrim Wall” – This fundraising initiative by Leitrim GAA seeks to complete a wall of messages and support visible from the N4 at the Centre of Excellence in Annaduff. There are options from €250 up to €3,000 which allow you to purchase a brick or stone in the wall with a personal message which can been seen and inspire future generations of Leitrim footballers. Corraleehan Parish Walk – Corraleehan Parish Walk continues each Thursday night at 8.30pm from Corraleehan Church. Community spirit, health, fitness, whatever your goals we will be happy to see everyone.

Pyramid Bookmakers Junior B Championship Final – Saturday last saw the final game of the season with our Junior B team taking on Aughawillan in the championship final. Despite a brave comeback towards the end of the game our lads had left too much to do following a poor first half performance and so it was Aughawillan who claimed the double adding this title to their Senior championship victory of last month. Final score Fenagh St Caillins 4.10, Aughawillan 2.18. Congratulations to Aughawillan on their years work.

Leitrim Sports Partnership Awards – the Fenagh St Caillins Intermediate Championship winning team have been nominated in the Team of the Year Category in this years awards. The awards take place next Saturday night in the Landmark starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are still available for anybody who wishes to attend. Contact Marie McGovern for more details.
