U20 Championship – Hard luck to our u20 lads who were in action in the Championship semi-final against St Manchans on Saturday. The lads put in a strong performance but were unable to overcome Manachans losing by a score of 4:13 to 2:11

Awards Night – Paddy O’Connor has been nominated for volunteer of the year by Leitrim partnership. A Fantastic achievement and a worthy nomination for Paddy a man that gives 100% of his time and commitment to the club wether it be fundraising or running the hurling club there is certainly no one more deserving than Paddy who has single handily kept hurling going in Ballinamore for the last 30 years.

Tommy Moran will be inaugurated into the Leitrim GAA hall of fame, Tommy a fantastic ambassador and a man that has given everything not just to Ballinamore and Leitrim GAA but also to the community of Ballinamore. This award is well deserved any recognises a life time of work and dedication given by Tommy.

Also recognised will be Tom Prior who has been named the Leitrim GAA county player of the year. A fantastic achievement for a fantastic player

Everyone at the club would like to pass on their thanks and gratitude to these three men and wish them well at the awards night

Hurling – We have indoor hurling on Monday evenings in The Sports Hall. Due to the large numbers of children participating, we need help with supervision and coaching. If you can help in any way please contact Paddy @0879528944

Indoor Hurling is on every Monday evening in the Sports Complex, at 19:00 cost is 2 euro to cover the cost of the hall and all gear is provided

U14/15 hurling training is also taking place on Saturdays on the back pitch at 11am, all gear provided and everyone is welcome

Christmas Draw – Tickets are now on sale from club members for our annual Christmas draw which takes place on the 5th of January in Priors. Tickets are one for €20 or 3 for €50 with the first prize €3500 up for grabs followed by €1000 sponsored by Priors @ High street and 10 prizes of €100

Under 20 Championship Final – After another great win and another great performance, against Leitrim Gaels, the Under 20 lads are in the Championship Final next Sunday (Nov 25th) in Pairc Sean at 12noon. They take on St Manachan’s. This group of players have played some great football in the games so far, but will have to put in another good display on Sunday next to win it out. They have done the Club proud and we wish them and their mentors good luck in the Final. They will need a good support, so come along to Pairc Sean on Sunday.

U20 Championship – Rinn Gaels faced Drumkeerin in the first round of the knock out U20 B Championship in Cornageeha on Sunday morning last. In a game that was well contested throughout, the Gaels etched out a five point victory on a 1-10 to 0-8 scoreline. This Sunday morning, they travel to Páirc Naomh Muire in Carrick to face St Mary’s in the County Semi-Final. Throw in at 12noon. Best of luck to all involved.

Club Daw – The October draw will took place on Saturday night last in Cox’s Steakhouse, Dromod, Thanks to Cox’s for their hospitality and to Carol for the music. Thanks – Our thanks to our Senior Team manager Morgan Shanley and his backroom team of Gary Mc Closkey, Jonathan Duffy and Anthony Mulligan who have stepped down from their positions with the senior team. The lads gave a huge amount of commitment throughout the year and no doubt all will continue to be involved in various roles within the club over the next few years.

Recent Engagements – Belated congratulations to former ladies player Louise Farrell (Esker) and fiancé Morgan Ryan from Tipperary who got engaged recently. Also to Damian Mc Gowan (Clonturk) and Ikun Chin who hails from Japan who announced their engagement on Friday last. Congratulations to you all

LH Heating U20 Championship – We were well beaten by St Mary’s on Sunday morning in Carrick in the U20 Championship Quarter Final. This brings to a close games for the different grades for the year.
DARC Community Park – We are delighted that works have begun on the all weather astro turf pitch which is due for completion in February. This will be a great asset to the community. Please note also that the main pitch is closed until spring while maintenance work is carried out. We thank all in advance for their co-operation on this matter.
AGM – Our AGM will take place on Sunday 2nd December at 3.30pm in The Depot. We ask that all members please attend.
National Club Draw – Tickets are now on sale through club members. There are some fantastic prizes on offer and we hope we will continue to get the community’s support for the draw and hopefully match if not better our sales from last year.

Hall of Fame – We extend warm congratulations to Tommy Moran (Ballinamore Seán O’Heslin’s) on being named the Leitrim Sports Partnership Hall of Fame winner 2018.  Tommy stands out as a most outstanding choice, a truly worthy recipient who has given so much to this county.  It is great to see him honoured and celebrated.

U20 Championship – Hard luck to our U20 team who lost out to a stronger Melvin Gaels team in the quarter finals of the A Championship on Sunday last.  We thank Donnacha and Eamonn Devaney for ensuring all eligible players were given the opportunity to play football in this competition.  We wish Melvin Gaels all the best in their semi-final.

Club Academy/U9s/U11s – Our Club Football Academy, U9 and U11 training will take place this Friday night at St Clare’s Comprehensive School. Times will be notified to parents.

Club AGMs – Our Coiste na nÓg and Senior Board AGM’s will take place on Saturday 24th of November in the Bee Park Community Centre.  The Coiste na nÓg AGM will take place at 7pm with the Senior directly afterwards at 8pm.  All players, members and those wishing to become new members are invited to attend.

Ladies AGM – Our Ladies AGM will take place in the Bee Park Community Centre this Friday night (16th November) at 9pm.  All players, members and those wishing to become members are invited to attend.

U16 Girls – The U16 girls are scheduled to play Ballinamore SOH at home in their next game with fixture details TBC.

Annual Golf Classic – Allen Gaels Classic took place on Saturday November 3rd in very wet conditions despite this 12 teams played the course which was in great condition despite the weather. Special thanks to Jenny Duffy who prepared soup and sandwiches for the players after the round. The club would like to thank members from the Allen Gaels Golf Society who organised the event including Enda Mc Gloin, Declan Loftus and Aidan McKeon.

U-16 Ladies – The girls had a good win at home to Keeldra Gaels on Saturday on a scoreline of 6-09 to 2-09. We play St. Brigids away this weekend so best of luck to Ciara, Sinead & the team.

Connacht Club Championship – Commiserations to Aughawillan as they fell short after a brave effort against Ballintubber in the Connacht Club semi final in Pairc Sean on Sunday.

Sympathy – The Club extends deepest condolences to the Kane Family, on the sad passing of Marian’s sister, Ann Candon, who was laid to rest in Ballinafad during the week.

Under 20 Championship Quarter Final – Congratulations and well done to all the players and mentors of the Under 20 team when they won the Championship Quarter Final against Glencar/ Manorhamilton on Sunday last in Bundoran. The Gaels played some great football from the throw-in to the final whistle and were always in control and finished up winning comfortably. Final score was Melvin Gaels 7-16, Glencar/Manorhamilton 0-8. They are now  in the Semi Final and take on Leitrim Gaels next Sunday (Nov 18th) in Leitrim Village at 12noon. Festival 2019 – On Monday the 19th of November at 8:30pm Leitrim Community Festival are holding a meeting in St Joseph’s Church Hall, Leitrim Village inviting locals to make proposals on how to fill a weekend with events to make August Bank Holiday weekend a special event next year. There are already events planned but there are opportunities for local groups to hold fundraisers or events to promote themselves over the weekend. We hope that anyone with a suggestion attends. Meeting is open to everyone. Hope to see you there.
