Senior Championship – Despite battling hard, the Connacht Club Semi-Final didn’t go as we had hoped. However, the final score didn’t reflect how tight the game was at times with Aughawillan kicking some fantastic points throughout the game. Aughawillan GAA would like to thank everyone who came to Pairc Sean & sent messages of good luck on social media, both last week and during the year – showing how close the community is, despite being scattered around the globe! Thanks also all the players & management who have provided us with many memories throughout the year, brought the Fenagh Cup to Aughawillan and done us all proud in the process. Hon the Willies!!

Junior Championship – Best of luck to the team and management in the Junior Championship Final against Fenagh/St Caillins. The game takes place on Saturday 17th November at 2pm in Ballinamore. We’ve had great support over the past few weeks and hope as many people as possible can turn out for one final game!

U20 – Best of luck to St Brigid’s u20 team who play St Joseph’s at 12pm on Sunday 18th November. Venue TBC.

Leitrim Sports Star Awards – Well done to the Senior Team & Mark Plunkett who are both nominated for awards in the Leitrim Sports Star Awards, in the Senior Team & Senior Sports Individual categories respectively. The awards are held on November 24th in the Landmark Hotel. If anyone is interested in attending the awards, please contact a member of the executive for tickets, €40 each which includes a 4 course meal.

Annual €20 Christmas Draw – With Christmas fast approaching, the €20 tickets will be on sale very shortly. If you’re interested in buying (or selling!) tickets, please contact a member of the club’s executive.

Help build the “Leitrim Wall” – This fundraising initiative by Leitrim GAA seeks to complete a wall of messages and support visible from the N4 at the Centre of Excellence in Annaduff. There are options from €250 up to €3,000 which allow you to purchase a brick or stone in the wall with a personal message which can been seen and inspire future generations of Leitrim footballers. Well done to St. Mary’s on Sunday morning last in the Leitrim U20 B Football Championship beating Dromahair on scoreline of 3.17 to 1.06. They play Rinn Gaels in the semi-final this Sunday at 12 noon in Páirc Naomh Mhuire.

U16 LADIES – Hard luck to our U16 ladies team who lost out to Dromahair in the Championship semi-final on Sunday last in St. Osnats.  They now take on Mohill in the Shield Final this weekend, date and venue to be confirmed. Best wishes to the team and management. Training continues this Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm in Páirc Naomh Mhuire.

UNDERAGE PRESENTATION NIGHT – We are looking forward to our underage presentation in The Bush Hotel this Saturday at 4pm. Shane Walsh, Galway star forward will be on hand to present medals…. which there are lots of, after what can only be described as a fantastic year on the pitch for our underage boys and girls. It promises to be a great evening for all St. Mary’s supporters both young and old. We really hope you will come join us.

AGM – The 2018 AGM will take place in The Clubhouse on Saturday 8th December at 8pm.

SCÓR NA NÓG 2018 – Scór na nÓg (Junior Scór) 2018/2019 Leitrim County finals are due to take place in December, date and venue TBC. Anyone who can play a musical instrument, sing or dance is invited to enter and represent St. Mary’s Kiltoghert GAA at this year’s Scór competition. You may enter individually or as part of a group. As this is the 50th year of Scór, we would love to get as many interested young club members, Boys and Girls to represent the club this year.

CONNACHT SENIOR CLUB SEMI FINAL – Hard luck to Aughawillian who were beaten by Ballintubber on Sunday last in the Connacht Senior Club Semi Final.

SYMPATHY – It was with great regret that we learned of the very sad passing of John Keaney on Friday morning. We at St. Mary’s GAA had the pleasure of dealing with John on many occasions in Keaney’s and as always found him to be a true Gentleman. The Keaney’s are a great sporting family and John has always been a great supporter of St. Mary’s and in recent years was very proud to see his grandchildren starring for our club. On behalf of all in St. Mary’s we offer our sincere sympathies to all the Keaney and extended family especially his wife Bernie, Ivan, Orla, Paul, Niall, Brian and Seán. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis. 

2018 Pyramid Bookmakers Junior B Championship Final – on Saturday next we travel the short distance to Ballinamore to take on Aughawillan in the Junior B C’ship final. It’s the final mens game of the year so please come along to support the players and help them to finish the year on a winning note. Throw in is at 2pm.

LH Heating Leitrim u20 Championship – on Sunday morning last we took on St Manachans in the quarter final. Despite a fighting performance form those who played it wasn’t our day. Final score Fenagh St Caillins 2.13, St Manachans 4.20.
Good Luck – to the Fenagh Ladies u16 team who play St Joseph’s this Sunday 18th November in the u16 championship final. The match kicks off at 2pm in Kiltubrid.

U20 – Well done to our U20 team and management on their win in the opening round of the U20 Championship on Sunday morning against Drumkeeran.

Club Draw 2019 – Our Annual Fundraising Draw is our main fundraising initiative every year and the 2019 draw will be one of our biggest in recent years.

A massive €5000 is up for grabs as a first prize, which would definitely be a great way to round off the Winter.

AGM – The Club AGM will take place on Thursday the 13th December @ 8pm in the Centre.

Weekend Fixtures – The U20 will contest the U20 Championship Semi Final Sunday @ 11 am. St Mary’s will provide the opposition, the game is an away fixture. We wish the lads the best of luck and all support for them is much appreciated.

Connacht Club Championship  –Hard luck to Aughawillan who represented Leitrim well at the weekend but came up short against Mayo’s Ballintubber.

Senior Team Management – The club would like to take this opportunity to pass on our sincere thanks to our senior management team who have made the decision to step down. We would like to thank Manager Paul Prior and his selectors Jason Kellett, Sean McCartin, Paddy Prior and Joe Feeley for the tremendous work they have done for the club over the last three years. During this time we have won an intermediate championship, played in Semi Finals of the senior championship and contested the league final. The management team hhasdone fantastic work developing a group of fine young men into a team that has grown in stature and belief during their time in charge. The brand of football they have developed and instilled in the team was exciting to watch and helped draw new and old down to the Páirc.  We would like to thank them for the time, effort and dedication they have shown the club and wish them well in the future.

Underage Amalgamation – It was announced recently at a club meeting that our underage teams comprising the under 13, 15’s and 17’s would amalgamate with Kiltubrid GAA. The new team will be called Seàn MacDiarmada Gaels with the colours black and amber and the St Bridget’s cross as a crest. Black and amber represent the original Leitrim GAA colours and the St Bridgets cross is symbolic of both Ballinamore and Kiltubrid. We would like to wish the new club well for the coming season and encourage anyone that would like to assist in the set up of the new amalgamation to make themselves known.

Hurling – We have indoor hurling on Monday evenings in The Sports Hall. Due to the large numbers of children participating, we need help with supervision and coaching. If you can help in any way please contact Paddy @0879528944. Indoor Hurling is on every Monday evening in the Sports Complex, U11 training is at 17:30 followed by U13 at 18:30 cost is 2 euro to cover the cost of the hall and all gear is provided U14/15 hurling training is also taking place on Saturdays on the back pitch at 11am, all gear provided and everyone is welcome

Comhgairdeas – Well done to Aughawillian GAA who put up a fantastic performance in the Connacht Championship semi final, they may not have got the result but they certainly gave their all and were worthy representatives of the county

Christmas Draw – Tickets are now on sale from club members for our annual Christmas draw which takes place on the 5th of January in Priors. Tickets are one for €20 or 3 for €50 with the first prize €3500 up for grabs followed by €1000 sponsored by Priors @ High street and 10 prizes of €100

Minor Ladies – Hard luck to the Minors who gave it everything against Kilkerrin Clonberne in the Connacht semi-final on Sunday but unfortunately came out on the wrong end of a 4-12 to 1-8 scoreline. The team made giant strides this year, playing some fantastic football in the process of becoming the County Champions and everyone in the club is hugely proud of their efforts.

Underage Presentation Award Night – thanks to Francis Davitt Planning for sponsoring hoodies for our u9s Academy and a special thank you to David Clarke who spoke very well. Thanks to David Moran and Willie Donnelan for taking memorable photos of the event. Well done to all teams on their award, it was a very enjoyable night with a great representation of all the families that make our club.

Dundalk Trip – Well done to our trip organisers on a very successful trip away to Dundalk last Friday night. There have been several photos of the night posted on the club’s Facebook page. We hope all had a brilliant time and a special thanks to John McTiernan, Margaret Fee and Francis McPadden on organising it.

Annaduff GAA AGM – Members please note that the club annual general meeting will take place on Sunday November 25, 2018 in the Club hall at 3pm. The Club’s AGM is the most important meeting of the year and every effort should be made to ensure that as many people as possible come along to review 2018 and discuss plans for 2019. We would like to encourage more members to become actively involved in the running of their club.

Dromod Tidy Towns – Dromod tidy towns are also running a table quiz in the Brandywell on Friday next the 16th of November starting at 10pm sharp. Table of 4 is €40. Prizes on the night.

Under 15 Champions – Finally, after two great games, with a strong, sporting Allen Gaels side playing their part, the Under 15s finally added the Championship title to the League won earlier in the year. We feel the pain for Drumshanbo as Mohill were very lucky on the previous Sunday to draw the game, but these boys never give up and this was a team effort with every lad, big and small playing their part. The club wish to acknowledge the input of the Cloone Club who have made generous contributions and make coaches available to all the underage teams. Well done to Mickey Quinn, Aidan Donohue, Matt Gaffey and John Baxter for looking after the boys during the year.

Lough Rynn Sponsorship – We thank the Lough Rynn Castle for sponsoring food for the players, mentors and a fair amount of supporters following the two Under 15 finals. Lough Rynn Castle and Manager Ciarán Reidy have been generous sponsors to the Club for many years now and Mohill is loooking forward to their continued support. They will hopefully be rewarded by success on the field of play in 2019.

Big Draw – The draw will now take place on December 8th so we need sellers to get going as soon as possible before the Christmas rush.

Under 20 – The first Under 20 Championship will commence next weekend. St Manchan’s will play Fenagh at 11am in Fenagh. Support as always is needed.

Under 15 – Well done to the Mohill under 15 team who won the West link coaches under 15, 15 aside football championship defeating a Gallant Allen Gaels team on a score line of 2 10 to 0 10. We extend our heartiest congratulations to the six stars from Cloone who part and parcel of this famous victory. We salute Sean Bohan, Brian Donohue, Cathal Donohue, Aaron McCrann, Anthony Luby and Conor Keegan for their part in achieving this great win. We look forward to these young stars being part of successful Cloone teams in the future.

Under 20 – With the football season slowly coming to an end the last remaining competition to be played is the under 20. All eligible players are asked to make themselves available.

Best Wishes – We extend our best wishes to Darren Keegan who recently had surgery for a shoulder injury. Darren will be ready for action for the 2019 season.
