Leitrim Hurling Final – It wasn’t to be for our fantastic hurlers on Saturday last as they lost the county final to Carrick Hurling on a scoreline of 2-7 to 0-7.  Despite being the underdogs, the lads produced a great team performance in the pursuit of glory with the concession of two goals in either half proving their downfall.  The lads left everything on the field and we applaud their never say die attitude.  Cluainín Abu.

U15 Boys Championship – Our U15 boys were very unlucky to bow out of the 15aside championship at the semi-final stage when losing to Mohill by a single point on Sunday last in Mohill.  Full credit to the players who produced a superb team performance even in defeat. Special mention to Dominic Kelly, Kevin McManus and Stuart Gilbride who have mentored the boys all season.  Final Score 1-8 to 2-04.

U15 – The U-15’s reached the 15 aside final with a 2-11 to 2-09 win over St. Marys in the park on Sunday. These 2 teams served up another gripping encounter in front of a large crowd of supporters and the lads did great to get over the line when the game could have gone either way. Playing with the breeze we got off to a flying start bagging 1-02 in the opening 3 minutes the goal from Radek Oberwan but St. Marys fought back and we led at the break 1-06 to 0-03 thanks to Ciaran McMorrow ‘s accuracy from placed balls and points from play from Shane McKeon and Sean Lynch.  We got the opening point of the second half but St. Marys gradually got on top and reduced the deficit with a goal shortly afterwards. We steadied the ship with a couple of frees from Ciaran, a super goal from Conor Flood and after a great Eoin Guckian point we led 2-09 to 1-07 but a second brilliant Mary’s goal brought it back to 2 points. Rory O’Donnell had to perform heroics in goals to keep us ahead and with time almost up St. Marys struck an equaliser. As the game entered injury time the lads earned a free which Radek slotted over and with the last play of the game Sean Lynch hit the insurance point to ensure a hard fought victory. Well done to both teams and good luck to Farrell, Angus and the lads in the final we think on Sunday where a strong Mohill team will provide the opposition.. Please turn out in numbers to support the team.
