Dunnes Bar ACL DIV 2 – We had a busy time on the football fields over the last week with three games within the week. On Wednesday evening last we had a good win over Bornacoola on a scoreline of Cloone 3 13 Bornacoola 2 06. Cloone lined out as follows C Casey. D Tiernan, B Mulvey, D Tiernan, G Reynolds, M Mulvey, D Keegan, Owen Keegan, D Kelly, D O Donnell, N Quinn, A Nichols, D Brennan, D Carberry, R Mulvey. However, on Saturday evening last things didn’t go as well as we were beaten by Carrigallen on a scoreline of Carrigallen 2 08 Cloone 0 12. On Saturday evening next we play Allen Gaels in Cloone at 7 pm. All panel members are asked to be available.

Lotto – With the jackpot at € 5,900.00, the next lotto draw will take place this weekend. Your continued support is much appreciated

Dunnes Bar Division 2 – The lads had 2 tough games last week against Dromahair and Annaduff. We travelled to Dromahair on Wednesday evening and found ourselves a goal down in the first minute and worse almost followed as Dromahair missed a penalty in the 4th minute as well as a coupof veryery scorable chances. We got on the scoreboard in the 7th minute when Shane Beirne fisted a point quickly followed by a point from play from Caleb Duffy. The home side had the next 2 points before we hit 4 points on the trot between the 16th and 24th minute from James Flynn, Caleb Duffy (2) & Martin Beirne. Dromahair hit back with 3 points of their own to lead 1-05 to 0-6 at the break. The home side kicked on after the interval and points in the 32nd & 34th minute saw them lead by 4. Martin Beirne landed a free in reply but another free in the 42nd minute proved to be their last score. The home side were reduced to 14 men and played a rearguard action to protect their lead. Martin Beirne in the 47th minute and a long range Diarmuid McKiernan free left 2 points in it with 10 minutes remaining. We were unable to find a way through in that time and it was the first minute of injury time when Bryan Beirne landed a long range score to bring us within one. As time was running out Martin Raftery was the hero when he popped up with the equaliser in the 4th minute of stoppage time to secure a share of the spoils. In a must win game on Saturday evening we came out on top in a tight encounter with table toppers Annaduff. Again another slow start saw us trail 1-04 to 0-01 at the end of the opening quarter. The visitors raced into a 3 point lead in 7 minutes before Caleb Duffy pointed from play after great work from Kyle Flynn in defence. Annaduff added another point and then as they dominated possession struck for a goal on 12 minutes. Martin Beirne replied with a free and then in the 20th minute hit the net to bring us back into the game. Thomas Mulvey added a point from play and in the 26th minute Ciaran Walsh got on the end of a move to strike for our second goal and put us in the lead for the first time. However on the stroke of half time Annaduff were awarded a penalty & converted to leave the interval score 2-04 to 2-03 to the visitors. Annaduff had the first 2 points of the second half inside 2 minutes but Caleb Duffy was on hand in the 33rd minute to grab our third goal & level the game. Both sides missed chances before Annaduff edged ahead again in the 42nd minute. Martin Beirne converted a free to level again going into the last quarter. Annaduff scored from a free to lead again on 49 minutes but this was short lived as Martin Raftery broke up field to level once more. Diarmuid McKiernan converted a pressure 45 after missing a couple earlier with 5 minutes remaining. When Annaduff hit a great long range equaliser in the 58th minute it looked like they would secure the point they needed to confirm promotion. However with the game in injury time Caleb Duffy hit a free and then added a final point from play after a brilliant interception by David Wynne to close out the game on a score line of 3-08 to 2-09.Scorers: Martin Beirne 1-03; Caleb Duffy 1-03; Ciaran Walsh 1-00; Thomas Mulvey 0-01; Martin Raftery 0-01. Our last game this weekend is a must win match against Cloone in Cloone so best of luck to the team & management.

Dunnes Bar Division 2 League – Our D2 leagues winning streak came to an end on Saturday last when our opponents Allen Gales walked away with the 2 points. The game started well for the Annaduff lads with a point from Kenny Cox from the throw in followed swiftly with one from Sean McNabola and a point from a free by Sean Duignan. Allen Gaels seamed waste full with some scorable free opportunity’s in the first quarter. Alan Glancy slotted a point in the 11 min followed up with a goal from Gavin, to leave 1-4 to 0-1. But in true Allen gaels spirit they pointed from a fee and followed with a goal in the 20th min. In the 26 min Allen gaels converted another goal to go 2 points ahead. But in the dying mins of the first half a pull down on Eoin Gill left Alan Glancy with a one on one penalty with the Allen Gaels keeper which of course he converted to leave Annaduff 2-4 to Allen Gaels 2-3 at half time.
The Annaduff men got the perfect start after the break with a points from Colm Cox and David Duignan. But the Allen Gaels men got their 3rd goal in the 33rd min which gave them great confidence.
Sean Mc and Allan Gaels swapped points in the 46th and 47th min. Kenny Cox converted a point from a free to put the Annaduff men 1 ahead in the 50th min but this was soon cancelled out with a point from play followed by a well taken 45 from the Allen Gaels keeper to put them 1 ahead. Sean Mc in the 58th min pointed another to level the sides again. But a second Yellow for Keith Duignan weakening the Annaduff defence which Allen Gaels took full advantage to finish with 2 points from play. Full time score Annaduff 2-09 Allen Gaels 3-8.
Team: Daragh Burke, Dean Gill, Keith Duignan, Stephen Murray, Mathew Reynolds, Mattie Cox, Jimmy Cox, David Duignan(0-1), Kenny Cox (0-2)(1f), Sean Duignan (0-1)(1f), Eoin Gill, Colm Cox(0-1), Sean McNabola(0-3), Gavin O Brien(1-0) and Alan Glancy (1-1) Subs: Mark Beirne for Matthew (26 min), Ray Cox for Stephen (40min) and Ronan McCormack for Dean (49min).

Newtown Engineering Under 17s Championship – Our U17s had their first Championship game on Thursday last in Annaduff when we hosted the amalgamated Gortletteragh and Bornacoola ( Rinn Gales). They were tough opponents from the outset. But none the less Annaduff kept plugging away until the final whistle. Full time score Annaduff 1-07 Rinn Gaels 3-12.
Team: Padraig Kane, Tommie Taylor, Ultan Kelly, Declan Gill, Francis Shanley(0-1), Cormac Kane, Michael Murray(1-1), Joe O Carroll, Jason Ward(0-1), Caolan Quigley, Liam Taylor(0-4)(2f), Daniel Bosquette and Hugh Boyce.
Subs: Jack Kelly, Shane Faughnan, Conn McNabola, Keelan Lynch and Craig McGuinness.
We would like to wish Declan Gill a speedy recovery following an injury he picked up near the end of the game.

Barna Recycling Under 13s Championship – Annaduff U13’s played their first championship match on Thursday and got the winning start they were looking for. They had a great start with Caelan Newton getting the first score of the match by burying the ball into the back of the net. This was followed by a points from Darren Cox and Senan Mooney. Dromahair then had a purple patch and scored two good points of their own. Senan and Darren got another point each before Dromahair got a goal. Luke Fitzsimons got two points in succession for Annaduff.  Liam was strong in Goal as usual. Kyle, Eoghan and Declan in the full back line and Patrick, Josh and Kevin in the half back line put up a put in a great display with great tackling. They also won almost all of their own kick outs during the match. Credit has to be given to the Dromahair defenders and particularly their keeper who made a number of goal line saves that prevented our forwards, Oisin, Nathan and Eamon from adding more goals in the first half. Senan did get a final point for Annaduff to leave it 1.08 to 1.03 at halftime. Ross O’Shea came on as a sub for his first under 13 match and put in a fine performances. Caelan Once again opened the scoring with a fine point. The forwards pressurised the kick out. Oisin Molloy, Luke, Senan Caelan combined to win possession on the right and worked the ball to Darren who carries it across field before kicking a delightful diagonal ball in the opposite direction into the arms Of Senan who finished by driving it into the net. Oisin Hannon and Jake Charles came on as subs and took up forward positions. Dromahair got a point back but Darren scored another Goal and a point to finish off the scoring. Peter Moran who was returning from injury came on in Goal for the last few minutes. Final score Annaduff 3.10, Dromahair 1.04.
