Club Membership Night – The club is holding a membership night this Friday January 19th from 6 – 8pm in the clubhouse. 2018 membership for is now due for all members both adult and juvenile, playing and non-playing. Membership fees for the year are as follows: Juvenile player (U-18) €30; Student €30; Adult player €60 (working); St. Francis Ladies Senior (including gym €75); Mothers & Others €30; Family membership €75 (gym not included); Gym Member €100.
25 Card Drive – Allen Gaels 25 Card Game continues every Sunday evening in Aras Phadraig at 8:30pm. Refreshments served. All welcome.

Leitrim GAA Supporters Club – The Annual Fundraising Draw will be launched on Thursday night January 18th in Croke Park. The event kicks off at 7:30pm in the Celtic Suite with light refreshments served and proceedings concluding at 9:15pm. Marty Morrissey is the special guest and Packie McGarty, Columba Cryan and Cathal Flynn are being honoured on the night. Music is by Garadice and any club supporters in Dublin are encouraged to go along to support. There is a free bus leaving from the Swimming Pool in Drumshanbo at 4:15pm sharp.
Drumshanbo Athletic Club – Couch to 5 km begins again on Tuesday 16th January from 7-8pm. Registration at the Mayflower from 6:45pm. Cost is €50 for all sessions until Easter. All beginners especially welcome.

New Arrivals – Congratulations to Amanda and Joseph Logan on the birth of their daughter Emma; to Shona and Thomas McManus on the birth of their daughter, Dearbhaile and to Laura and Fergal Lavin on the arrival of their daughter, Letitia.
Lights On Weekly Walk Group – Melvin Gaels and Kinlough Community will join with the GAA, in partnership with RTÉ’s Operation Transformation to bring together communities across the 32 counties to enjoy healthy walks in the safe, bright, environs of their GAA club. In a bid to make exercise more accessible on the dark winter nights, ‘Ireland Lights Up’ will see participating clubs turn on their floodlights/lighting systems between 7-pm-9pm each Monday for a six-week period (22nd January – 26th February, 2018) So everyone is welcome to come along to the Community Centre and join in.
Underage Training – Training for our underage players will restart in next few weeks. There will be an registration day held and all new and past members can register on the day. This date to be confirmed shortly. We will post up membership prices on facebook and we will keep you updated through Facebook, parish notes, and schools. Any parents who wish to help out in any way training, supervision, or by joining our committee, contact us and we will be delighted to receive all offers of help.
National Club Draw – The National Club Draw tickets are now on sale. This Draw is an opportunity for our club to raise much needed funds. Melvin Gaels will retain all the proceeds raised through the sale of our tickets and all national prizes are provided by Ard Chomhairle. There are now 20 amazing prizes on offer, with the top prize of a new car!

Race Night – Leitrim Gaels annual race night is set to take place on Saturday 27th January 2018. This is the clubs biggest fundraiser of the year. Horses are now on sale from club members. Anyone wishing to sponsor a race should contact Mark Chandler or any committee member.
Coaching – Anyone interested in coaching teams in the club need to complete the foundation course in couching starting this week. We are looking for new coaches too help with the under 5’s/ 7’s and 9’s. Please contact Gerry Curley (0876823674) to put your name forward as a coach and for enrolment in the course.
LEITRIM GAELS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT LTD – Community Field AGM will take place on Thursday 18th January at 8pm in the clubhouse. Everyone is welcome and the committee are looking for a number of positions to be filled.

AGM – Our reconvened AGM took place on Sunday last with the election of officers. Training – Training for 2018 starts on Sunday morning next at 11am sharp on the pitch. All players available are expected to be there. We have a new management team of Martin Mc Gowan, Joe Reynolds, Barry Bohan, Noel Mc Nulty and Declan Wynne, and we want all players to come out, put the effort in, and get the year off to a positive start. There will be a meeting afterwards to discuss the year ahead. Best of luck to all involved.
AGM – The club would like to welcome Claire Faughnan (Mc Nabola) to the executive. Claire has taken over as treasurer of the club and no doubt she will do an excellent job. Best of luck Claire. We would like to thank outgoing treasurer Adrian Mc Caffrey for all his time and hard work which he put into the club the last few years. All other positions are the same as last year.
Scór na nÓg – A massive well done to Connacht Scor na nóg winners Danny Smyth, Colin Smyth, Dillon Beirne Tom Prior and James Og Maguire, the lads did us proud in Claremorris at the weekend securing the title, they were behind by 1 going into the last round and won by 1 mark after 80 questions. They now go forward to the All Ireland in Sligo IT on 17th Feb. Special thanks to their tutor Sean Ó Súilleabháin for his help & knowledge prior to competition and a special mention also to Brid Sullivan for all the work she has done behind the scenes helping to get the club ready for the Scór competitions.
Strictly Come dancing DVD Night – Thanks to everyone that attended @Priors on Saturday night for our very successful DVD launch night special thanks to Gay and Staff for as always providing us with the use of his excellent venue for the night
Leitrim Supporters Club Launch – This year’s launch takes place on Thursday the 18th at 1930 in the Celtic Suite in Croke Park, this years event is one not to be missed with former Ballinamore and Leitrim legend Columba Cryan being recognised for his historic railway cup win which took place in 1958, 60 years ago this year, Columba will be recognised along with two other Leitrim legends Paddy McGarty and Cathal Flynn. Another draw on the night will be Marty Morrisey who’s currently taking part in Strictly come dancing, Marty will be interviewed by former Leitrim star Colin Regan, hopefully a few of you will travel from Ballinamore for this great night and you will be able to cheer on Columba and pass on a few tips on dancing to Marty.
Comhbhrón – Everyone at the club would like to pass on Our deepest sympathies to Sean Ó Súilleabháin and all his family and friends on the passing of Sean’s father, Frank who passed away Sunday evening just two weeks short of his 100th Birthday. Ciorcal Comhrá – Irish conversation classes, or Ciorcal Comhrá, are currently taking place in Ballinamore Library on Tuesdays,at 8.00pm. There are separate groups for relative beginners, for those who have some Irish and for those who are fluent. These classes are a great opportunity to practice the Irish you know and to improve it.
