Next Saturday 13th November sees the final competition in the Coiste na nÓg calendar for the 2010 season. Drumkerrin and Drumreilly will take to the field in the U16 15aside competition, Drumkerrin took the direct route to the final winning all of their 4 games and topping the table on 8 points but Drumreilly took the scenic route ending up tied with Mohill and Glencar-Manor on 4 points and forcing a 3 way playoff to decide who would meet Drumkerrin in the final. Mohill and Glencar-Manor were first to play with Glencar-Manor winning that one and meeting Drumreilly last Saturday for the semi-final which Drumreilly came out on top with a 5 point victory. When these two teams met in round 1 of the competition played on the 17th of September there was only the bare minimum between them with Drumkerrin coming out on top with a 1 point victory on a scoreline of 3-08 to 1-13, so both teams will have their eye on the silverware. No doubt Drumkerrin will be eager to put back to back titles after winning the under 16 15aside League cup over Allen Gaels earlier this year and Drumreilly will also want to do the double, only a step higher as they won the under 16 13aside title over Mohill, so no doubt the scene should be set for a cracking final. We wish both teams the best of luck on Saturday.

Under 16 9-a-side Championship Final
Aughnasheelin 4-5 Glenfarne/Kiltyclogher 2-8
Aughnasheelin edged out Glenfarne/Kiltyclogher in a thrilling finish to claim the U-16 9-a-side championship title in Ballingleara on Sunday morning last. It was the Aughnasheelin teams whirlwind start to the game when they scored four goals in the opening fifteen minutes which ultimately decided this contest. Despite a brave second half comeback the North Leitrim side left themselves with too big a deficit to make up and Aughnasheelin held on to take the title in an action packed last period.
AughnasheelinÓgot the best possible start to the match when a well worked move saw Jack McGirl in behind the Glenfarne/Kilty defence and he finished the ball to the net. Almost straight from the kickout the lead was doubled as a long ball found Niall Mulvanerty in behind the defence and he sent his shot past the Glenfarne/Kilty keeper. The next five minutes saw both sides miss chances. Glenfarne/Kilty could easily have been level but two good goal chances were not taken. On nine minutes another long ball found Jack McGirl in behind the Glenfarne/Kilty defence and he drove the ball past Cathal McSharry to put his side into a nine point lead. Glenfarne/Kilty finally opened their account a minute later when Darren Murray pointed from play. Two minutes later Tommie McManus got the North Leitrim lads second score when he hit a point from play. The mini Glenfarne/Kilty revival was halted a minute later when after a well worked passing move Keith Sammon finished the ball to the net as Aughnasheelin looked like they might run away with the game. However this was to be their last score of the half and three unanswered Glenfarne/Kilty points over the next five minutes gave the north Leitrim side hope for the second half. First Brian Fox scored from play on nineteen minutes. This was followed a minute later by a Tommie McManus point from play. Darren Murray finished the first half Scóring when he pointed a free to leave the half time score four goals to five points in favour of Aughnasheelin.
The second half opened with Niall Mulvanerty pointing from play to further increase Aughnasheelins advantage. Glenfarne/Kilty then had a great chance to get back into the game but Tommie McManuss goal bound effort was saved by David McWeeney in the AughnasheelinÓgoal. Darren Murray gave the North Leitrim lads a lifeline on nine minutes when he finished emphatically to the net following a well worked passing move. Aughnasheelin responded immediately with a Niall Mulvanerty free. Cathal McSharry then kept the North Leitrim lads hopes alive on ten minutes when he did well to push a dipping shot around the post. Niall Mulvanerty then increased the Aughnasheelin lead further with a point from play to leave seven points between the teams midway through the second half. A point from play by Ronan McGovern on thirteen minutes and one a minute later from Tommie McManus cut the gap to five as Glenfarne/Kilty grew in confidence. Kevin McWeeney then hit a wonderful free over the bar from out on the wing but this was cancelled out a minute later by a Robbie Broughton point from play to leave five points between the teams with three minutes left. A minute later a grandstand finish was guaranteed as a surging run from Tommie McManus ended with him driving the ball to the Aughnasheelin net to leave two between the teams. A point from a free by Niall Mulvanerty a minute later steadied Aughnasheelin nerves. For the final two minutes Glenfarne/Kilty laid siege to the AughnasheelinÓgoal but were unable to get the score required to force extra time. A Darren Murray point from play cut the gap to two again with time almost up. However the North Leitrim men ran out of time and Gareth Foleys full time whistle was the que for Aughnasheelin to celebrate.

In front of a large crowd of supporters in Pairc Sean St Marys-Kiltoghert added the minor A championship title to the league title they won earlier this year. In a very entertaining game St Francis opened the Scóring with a converted free by Daniel Egan in the first minute, five minutes later St Marys Colm OReilly opened Carricks account with a pointed free. In the 12th minute Egan put St Francis ahead again with a point from play which was quickly followed by a pointed free by OReilly. At this stage there was nothing between the teams. Egan scored another point from a free in the 21st minute and in the 24th minute Conor Farrell replied with a well executed point from play. Two more converted frees by Colm OReilly in the 26th and 27th minute saw St Marys take the lead but this was quickly banished when a well taken shot by St Francis Tomas Mulvey ended up in the carrick net. Now in injury time in the first half St Marys continued to win the midfield battle and scored 2 more points from play from Colm OReilly and Conor Farrell sending the teams in at half time on a scoreline of 0-7 to 1-03 in favour of St Marys. After the resumption points were exchanged at both ends but disaster struck 3 minutes in when a goalmouth error saw St Francis concede an ownÓgoal when the ball deflected off Tomas Mulvey and ended up in the net. St Francis quickly responded with a point from play by Martin Beirne. In the next 10 minutes it was all St Marys with 3 more points courtesy of Colm OReilly. 1 from play and 2 frees, but the never say die attitude of St Francis saw them get 2 more points in the 44th and 46th minute by Daniel Egan , 1 from play and 1 free. In a very intence game both sides continued to battle cheered on by their respective supporters with OReilly converting a free in the 48th minute while in injury time Joseph ORourke added his name to the Scóring list further extending the St Marys lead with a well taken point from play. Another converted free by Daniel Egan in the 63rd minute ended this contest and jubilliant scenes followed the final whistle as St Marys celebrated a well deserved victory .
Man of the match was Colm OReilly who notched up no less than 0-10 of St Marys scores and to whom we extend our sincere congratulations.

Dromahair were crowned champions of the Minor B Dolan Cup Championship on friday evening last in front of a large crowd in Pairc Sean Mc Diarmada with a scoreline of 1-14 to 1-11 over their near neighbours Drumkeerin..
A minutes silence was observed by everyone prior to start of game as a mark of respect to the Grandfather of Drumkeerin players Felim and Patrick Mc Hugh who died earlier that morning RIP.
Drumkeerin were first to put their name on the score board with points from Jamie Langan, Cathal Mc Cauley and Seamus Mc Nama respectively before Dromahair chalked their first point from Mark Kelly. Dromahair then registered three more unanswered points from Jamie Conlon and two from Niall Hopper.
With brilliant displays of football displayed by both teams there was some wasteful shooting with the ball going the wrong side of the uprights as both teams were evenly matched.
Both teams added another point each from Cathal Mc Cauley Drumkeerin and Jamie Conlon Dromahair.. Fergal Mc Morrow got the ball on the 45m line and sent in a brilliant high ball towards goalmouth and landed in the back of the net through the hands of the keeper. Dromahair added two more points from Rory Kelly and Jamie Conlon and Drumkeerin added three from Glen KavanÓgh and two from Patrick Mc Partlin which left the sides going in at half time with a scoreline of 1-7 to 0-7 in favour of Dromahair.
In the second half Cian ClintonÓgot his first point and Martin Clancy got two all from play before Drumkeerins gifted Jamie Langan and Patrick Mc Partlin scored a point each form play. Martin Clancy was fouled around midfield, then took a quick free to Jamie Conlon who sent a tremendous ball sailing over the bar. Marin Clancy scored another from play. Drumkeerin added two more points from James Gallagher and Cathal Mc Cauley while Dromahairs Killian Torsney and Cian Clinton added one each to keep them on top. JohnÓgallagher with about four minutes to go got a pass to put the ball in the back of the net for his side but it was not enough as the final scoreline of 1-14 to 1-11 left Dromahair worthy winners. Glenfarne/Kilty were this evening crowned Minor C champions with a 3-09 to 1-06 win over Fenagh-St Caillins. In a first half which was slow to gather momentum both sides exchanged points from Donal Wrynn and Andrew Wrynn for Fenagh St Caillins and John Mc Loughlin and Darren Murray for Glenfarne/Kilty and despite the great shouts of encouragement from the good crowd of supporters who were there to cheer on their respective teams the scores were slow to come with both teams being wasteful with their shots and some very good defensive play by both sides. Glenfarne/Kilty were first to hit the net with an 18th minute goal by Steven Mc Manus and the teams went in at the break on a scoreline of Glenfarne/Kilty 1-02 to Fenagh-St Caillins 0-04. The second half saw a much hungrier Glenfarne/Kilty side with Robert Broughton in the number 2 jersey run the length of the pitch and score a point. In the 26th minute Glenfarne/Kilty were awarded a penalty which Steven Mc Manus easily converted, this was quickly followed in the 27th minute by a Michael Ferguson point and another converted penalty by Steven Mc Manus in the 31st minute. At this stage Fenagh-St Caillins must have felt the game slipping from their grip but they never gave up and in the 32nd minute hit the net with a fine goal followed immediately by a point but the remaining 7 minutes belonged to Glenfarne/Kilty with Micheal Ferguson Scóring 4 unanswered points and Steven Mc Manus putting another point on the scoreboard with Fenagh-St Caillins Scóring a consolation point in the 40th minute. Final score, Glenfarne/ Kilty 3-09, Fenagh-St Caillins 1-06.The teams lined out as follows.Glenfarne/Kilty Kevin Leonard, Robert Broughton, Shane Ferguson, Daire Clancy, John Mc Loughlin, Micheal Ferguson, Rory Mc Loughlin, Steven Mc Manus, and Darren Murray. Congratulations to Leitrim Gaels who captured the under 14 Div 3 11 aside title in Pairc Sean on Wednesday evening over Aughnasheelin. In beautiful sunshine both teams battled hard and contested every ball but it was the Gaels who dominated play and went in at half time on a score line of 1-08 to Aughnasheelin’s 1-02.
