Under 20 Trials 2018

Please note that Leitrim Under 20 Trials will take place on Sunday, January 14th at 11.00am and Sunday, January 21st at 11.00am at the Leitrim GAA Centre of Excellence, Annaduff.

It would be appreciated if clubs inform all eligible players of these trials and encourage these players to attend so that all players have the option of presenting for consideration for selection for the 2018 County Under 20 Panel.

At tonights meeting of Leitrim GAA County Committee, delegates ratified the Senior Team Management for 2017 which is as follows:

Leitrim GAA Senior Football Inter County Team Manager Vacancy

Leitrim GAA is currently in the process of selecting its Senior Football Team Manager for 2017. An email has been sent to all Leitrim GAA Club Secretaries inviting nominations of suitably qualified personnel. The Club is advised that they must have the permission of the person they may choose to nominate, before doing so.

In addition to this, Leitrim GAA Management Committee invites applications from persons who may have an interest in the position. Interested parties should appply in writing and submit a CV with details of coaching qualifiactions, and management experience for consideration by email to secretary.leitrim@gaa.ie by Friday August 5th.

The Selection Committee will give all nominations and applications fair consideration as part of the ongoing process in the selection of Leitrim GAAs next Senior Football Manager.

Leitrim Senior and Under 21 Team Management

Leitrim Senior and Under 21 Team Manager Shane Ward has today informed the Executive of the Leitrim County Board that he is stepping down from his role and in doing so, thanked his management team for their professionalism and dedication. He also thanked the clubs for their co-operation and the county players for excellence of their work under his management team.

Leitrim GAA would like to thank Shane and his backroom team for their tireless dedication and commitment over the last two years and wish them the very best in the future. The County Board Executive will be meeting in the next few days to put a process in place to select a new team Manager.

Experimental Rules for the Connacht Minor Football league

1 Only 3 Consecutive hand passes will be allowed.

2 No back pass to the Goalkeeper.

3 A mark will be allowed if the ball is kicked out past the 45m line and is caught cleanly.

A player has the option of continuing to play.

4 On receipt of a free the kicker must kick the ball forward.

A breach of any of the above will result in a free to the opposition.
