U12 Development Squad

The next U12 Development Squad training is on Saturday the 9th August in Ballinamore at 10am.

 
U10 Blitz 
The next U10 Blitz will be held this Saturday the 26th of July in Mohill commencing at 10:30am. All Clubs are encouraged to take part.  Contact development officer Yenette ORourke if entering a team.
 
Hard Luck
Hard luck to our minors who lost to Offaly on Sunday in the All Ireland B Shield Semi Final. Good effort and hard work was put in by all just unfortunately it wasnt our day.
 
U16 Connacht Final
Our U16s play Mayo in the  Connacht B Final on Sunday in Charlestown at 4.30pm. Best of luck to the girls.
 
Club Championship Results
Sunday, 20th of July seen the second round of the Senior Championship take place aswell as the  first round of the Junior Championship. Here are the results for both Senior and Junior:- Dromahair 3-12 v Kiltubrid 4-8, St Josephs 3-16 v Glencar Manorhamilton 1-2, Aughwillian 1-12 v Mohill 2-05. Junior:

Minor All Ireland B Semi-Final; 
Best wishes to our minor team who travel to Moate on Saturday at 2pm to take on Kildare in the All-Ireland B Semi-final. 
 
U12 Blitz: 
Our U12 Development Squad had a fantastic day at the Connacht Centre of Excellence on Saturday last.  Two Leitrim Teams travelled over and all girls had a great experience. Appreciation to Michelle Guckian, Sean McPartland and Breedge McGovern who mentored the teams.
 
U10 Blitz:
Mohill are hosting the next U10 Blitz on Saturday 26th July.  Following this Sean OHeslins are hosting the next U10 Blitz on Saturday August 9th.
 
Level One Referees:
Congratulations to our 17 new referees who completed their final training day in Drumshanbo Saturday last.  They will now try out their new skills during the upcoming U10 Blitz.
 
Coxs Steakhouse Dromod Club Championship:
First round of Senior and Intermediate championship began last weekend with wins in Senior championship for St. Josephs, Aughawillan and Kiltubrid. In the Intermediate Championship St. Francis and Sean OHeslins recorded wins. Next round of Club Championship takes place on this Sunday 20th July.   Double header in Senior Championship: St. Josephs V Glencar/Manorhamilton and Aughawillan v Mohill & at a separate venue Dromahair v Kiltubrid. Thursday July 17th Round 5 of U12 Championship.  All games at 7pm.  13 Aside: Allen Gaels V Sean OHeslins; Mohill v Dromahair: St Josephs v Glencar/Manorhamilton. 9 Aside: Annaduff v Kiltubrid; Aughawillan v Bornacoola, Fenagh- St. Caillins v Glenfarne Kilty; Aughnasheelin v St Marys Kiltoghert; Drumkeerin v Gortletteragh.

Intermediate Team:

Massive congratulations to our Intermediate team who defeated Sligo in the Connacht Intermediate Championship last Sunday.  After being down by 5 points at half time, Leitrim dominated the second half to win by 4 points.  Final score Leitrim 3-12 Sligo 1-14.  Also congratulations to Aine Tighe who was named Player of the Match after Scóring 2-5.

 
U12 Development Squad:

The U12 Development Squad are away this Saturday for a Connacht Blitz in Ballyhaunis, best of luck to the Girls.

U16 County Team:

U16s have their 5th Round of Championship this Saturday 12th July @ 6.30pm in Croghan were they take on Roscommon. 

U12 Championship:

U12 Championship continues this Thursday for all clubs involved.

Level One Referee Course:

The first day of the Referee Course was last Saturday July 5th and the second day is this Saturday July 12th at 9:45am in the Mayflower Drumshambo at 9:45am.

Coxs Steakhouse Club Championship Fixtures:

This Sunday the 13th of July sees the Round 1 of the Coxs Steakhouse Club Championship for both Senior and Intermediate.  In Senior St Josephs vs Dromahair, Kiltubrid vs Mohill, Glencar Manorhamilton vs Aughawillan.  In Intermediate Drumkeerin vs Oughteragh Gaels, St Francis vs Cloone

Intermediate Connacht Final

Intermediate Connacht Final

This Sunday the 6th July is a big day for Leitrim Ladies as they take on Sligo in the Intermediate Connacht Football Final – Throw in 1:30pm in Elverys McHale Park Castlebar.  We wish the ladies and management the very best of luck! 

U10 Blitz

Fenagh Ladies and Kiltubrid Ladies are joining together this Saturday the 5th of July to host an U10 County Blitz. The Blitz is going to be held in Fenagh St Caillins pitch and will be starting at approx 10:30am. All clubs are encouraged to take part and anyone interested can contact Yeonette ORourke Leitrim Ladies Development Officer.

Level 1 Referee Course

Leitrim Ladies will be holding a Referee Course for new referees and it will be taking place over a 2 day period. Anyone willing to take part in the course must be over 17 years.  The first day is this Saturday July 5th in the Mayflower Drumshanbo at 9:45am and the second day is July 12th at 9:45am in the Mayflower Drumshanbo at 9:45am. Please contact Development Officer Yeonette ORourke. Limited amount of spaces.

U12 Development Squad

The U12 Development Squad are out again this Saturday the 5th of July. Time and venue to be confirmed. There will be an U12 Connacht Blitz for the squad in Ballyhaunis on Saturday the 12th of July. 

U14 Shield Final

Well done to St Josephs who defeated Drumkeerin in the 9aside Shield Final last weekend.

Juice Plus Dawn Run:
Leitrim Ladies GFA launched their Annual Juice Plus Dawn Run on Thursday June 5th in The Landmark Hotel. Leitrim LGFA are delighted to have Damien Brennan & Juice Plus on Board again as their main sponsor.  This is the fourth year of the Juice Plus Dawn Run & it takes place on June 21st at 6am in St Marys Club House. Along with first man & lady, Juice Plus Dawn Run have introduced four new categories, first man & lady over 55 & first Junior Boy & Girl U20. Hot showers & refreshments will be provided in St Marys Club Rooms after the run. Register online www.runireland.ie or on the morning from 5am. All joggers & walkers welcome. U10 blitz:
There will be an U10 blitz taking place in Dromahair this Saturday at 10:30am. All clubs are encouraged to take part. 
 
U12 Championship:
U12 Championship kicked off yesterday evening (Thursday) with the first matches in the 13 aside taking place with Glencar Manorhamilton vs Dromahair, and St Josephs vs Allen Gaels. Next Thursday, 19th June sees the 9 aside commence with Glenfarne Kiltyclogher vs Kiltubrid, Aughnasheelin vs Bornacoola, St Marys vs Gortletteragh, Aughawillan vs Annaduff and Fenagh vs Drumkeerin. Next Thursday the 19th also sees the second round of the 13aside take place with Dromahair vs St Josephs, Allen Gaels vs Mohill and Sean OHeslins vs Glencar Manorhamilton.

Juice Plus Dawn Run
Leitrim Ladies in conjunction with Juice Plus are holding a 10km Run/Walk on the 21st June at 6am.  Make sure to register online at www.runireland.com or you can register on the morning at 5am.  Starting at St Marys GAA Club house and registration is only €10!  It will be a great and refreshing way to start your day! 
 
U12 Development Squad
The u12 development squad have training this Saturday the 31st of May at 10am. All girls in their last year of U12 are invited to attend. 
 
Pat Quill Visit
Last Wednesday Pat Quill President of the LGFA visiited Leitrim National Schools in preperation for Feile. He was accompanied by Connacht LGFA President Liam Costigan and Leitrim Ladies Aine Tighe!  They visited Drumlease, Ardvarney, Ballinamore GNS and Mohill NS.
 
Connacht Interprovincial Team
Congratulations to Sarah McLoughlin, Aine Tighe, Niamh Tighe and Sharon Kerrigan who represented Leitrim at the Interprovincials last Saturday.  Connacht were narrowly beaten by Ulster in the final by a single point!

Intermediate Team

 

The Intermediate Ladies take on Roscommon in the second round of the Connacht Intermediate Championship at 7pm in Ballinamore this Friday, 16th of May.

 

16 County Team

 

The U16s are out this weekend in the second round of the championship at home to Roscommon at 1pm in Annaduuf. Best of luck to the girls!

 

U14 Country Team

 

Hard luck to the U14s who lost to Galway in the Connacht B Final last Sunday. Well done to Dearbhla Rooney who was awarded Player of the Match on the day.

 

LGFA President to Visit Leitrim

 

Pat Quill, President of the LGFA will be visiting the county on Wednesday 21st May. He will visit the following schools: St Clares Manorhamilton at 9.30am, Ardvarney Dromahair at 10.30am, Ballinamore GNS at 12.15pm, Mohill NS at 1.15pm,and St Marys NS at 2.15pm.

Leitrim Ladies

Condolences:

Leitrim Ladies wishes to express our sympathy to the Brady family and St Josephs club on the passing of Eamonn Brady. Also to the McLoughlin Family and Fenagh Ladies Club on the passing of Kathleen McLoughlin.  We would like to offer our deepest sympathy and our support to both families at this time. May they R.I.P.

Intermediate Team:

Well done to the Intermediate team who beat Tipperary in Round 7 of the NFL Division 3 League. The semi final will take place in three weeks time against Waterford. Date and Time TBC.

League Fixtures:

All clubs are out this weekend as there is a full round of club fixtures in Division 1, 2 and 3 league. 

Tesco Homegrown Junior B All Ireland: 

Ballinamore Community School take on Eureka Kells this Thursday the 10th of April in the All Ireland Junior B Final at 2pm in St Phelams Park, Drumalee Co.Cavan. Best of Luck to the girls and all involved.
