County Football U21 Trials 
 
Clubs are requested to notify potential/interested players to attend County Football U21 Trials Saturday 14 December as follows
 
Drumkeerin at 10am for the following clubs:
Melvin Gaels, Dromahair, St. Osnats Glencar, Glenfarne Kiltyclogher, Glencar Manorhamilton, Drumkeerin, Ballinaglera, Aughnasheelin, Allen Gaels.
 
Fenagh at 2pm for the following clubs:
Aughavas, Aughawillan, Bornacoola, Ballinamore SOH, Carrigallen, Eslin, Kiltubrid, Cloone, Drumreilly, Annaduff, Fenagh St. Caillins, Leitrim Gaels, Gortletteragh, Mohill, St. Marys.

Conditioning programme for next years under 15 & under 16 squads
 
The first phase of our conditioning programme for next years under 15 & under 16 squads takes place on this Friday evening (13th Dec) in the Mayflower Drumshanbo. The under 15 squad will commence at 6pm with the under 16 lads on at 7.30 pm. Cathal Cregg from the Connacht Centre will be in attendance to demonstrate the exercises and answer any queries players may have.

Polar Plunge Information

Our inaugural Carrick Polar Plunge is taking place on Saturday 14th December at the Dock Theatre Carrick on Shannon.  It will involve members of the public getting sponsored to brave the freezing waters of our above ground level (4ft Water) pool in full view of the public.  We will have solo plungers, team plungers and there is an opportunity to “Toss Your Boss”.  To register, log on here   Solo plungers must raise a minimum of €100, while Teams of 4 can plunge for €300. 

There is an opportunity to Toss Your Boss for €500 – (This is where staff will fundraise the amount and get the chance to throw their boss in)

Monies raised from this fun event will go towards the training and development of our 228 Athletes who will compete as Team Connaught at the Special Olympics Ireland Games which take place in Limerick in 2014.  We are looking for as many participants as possible to take part and any assistance that you could provide would be really appreciated.

Scór na nÓg is kicking off in the new year with the semi finals on January 4th & 5th.
 
Some slight changes to this years event, solo singers must accompany themselves, however a piano or keyboard is not permitted, songs are also extended to include the country of birth or origin of the competitor, this is also introduced in the ballad groups.
 
Léiríu is now replacing the novelty act entry, it advises groups to put together a drama depicting events from the history or mythology of ireland, it still however encourages clubs to include comedy, live music or dance in their performances.
 
Trath na gCeist will also be ran slightly differently, teams comprise of 4 members and the county champions will go through to an All-Ireland final rather then the previous provincal level.

Semi- Final Venues:
Saturday Jan 4th – Cannon Donohoe Hall, Mohill at 5pm
Sunday Jan 5th – Mayflower Drumshanbo at 3pm
 
County Final will be held on January 12th at 3pm in St Marys Hall Carrick-on-Shannon

The 2 nights of Scór na mBunscoileanna took place in the Mayflower Drumshanbo Thursday 14th and  Friday 15th November. 
The standard of performances were a credit to the schools, parents and teachers, the children really promoted the culture and talent of the schools 
The best performance on each night in each event got medals and the Cormac MacGiolla shield for the best school overall was won by Aughnasheelan National School.

If you are attending the Under 21 Final in Ballinamore on Saturday afternoon, plese note that there is no parking in the vicinity of Ballinamore GAA grounds due to road works associated with the construction of the new school. Ample parking is available around town of Ballinamore. Please allow 10/15 mins extra on your journey for walking to the ground.  Enjoy the match and have a safe journey.

On-line Foundation Course

The practical module of the on-line foundation course will take place in two venues over the weekend. Participants can choose either venue to complete their course.   On Saturday the session will take place in Melvin Gaels GAA grounds, Kinlough commencing at 12 noon.   

On Sunday the session will take place in Gortletteragh GAA park commencing at 12 noon.
 
Please note: all participants must complete the practical module of the course.

Online Foundation Course

Our On-line Foundation Award Course is onÓgoing and will be available for completion until November 29th. In conjunction with the on-line theory section, all participants must complete the child welfare-code of ethics course and the practical module of the Foundation Award course. 

To facilitate this, two Child Welfare-Code of Ethics courses will be run this weekend. 

Our first course will take place on this Friday evening commencing @ 7pm in St. Clares Post Primary School, Manorhamilton, with the second course taking place on Saturday next 23rd in Gortletteragh Community Centre, commencing at 6pm.

The practical sessions are planned for Saturday November 30th. Final details for the practical sessions will be advised to all those completing the course next week.

Big game this Sunday (10th November) in Pairc Sean. We wish St Marys well as they represent the county in the Connacht Club Senior Football Championship Semi Final when they will do battle against Roscommon Champions and reigning All Ireland Champions St Brigids.  All Leitrim football fans are urged to turn up to cheer on our representatives.
