Senior Club Championship Round Up from Connacht – defending champions knocked out inÓgalway and Sligo.
GALWAY FOOTBALL
Defending champions Corofin were knocked out at the semi-final stage by Tuam Stars on a 2-6 to 0-9 scoreline at Tuam Stadium on Sunday last.
An early Conor Doherty goal set Tuam on their way and they led by 1-3 to 0-3 by half-time, before Paul Doherty’s second secured a memorable win.
Tuam will play Salthill-Knocknacarra in the final after they beat Killererin by 3-10 to 0-10 in the other semi-final.
SLIGO FOOTBALL
Curry are through to the county final after a 0-9 to 0-8 victory over defending champions Tourlestrane in Kilcoyne Park.
Curry will play Coolera-Strandhill or St Mary’s in the final, the pair having drawn, 1-10 to 2-7, in the other semi-final on Saturday night last.

Kiltubrid win the Pursue Your Path to Croker Competition 19 Sep 2012
We have a winner in our ‘Pursue Your Path to Croker’ Competition which has been running on our Facebook Page throughout the Championship. For the past week people have been voting for the top club in each province and one club have won the Corporate Experience for 20 members of their club to this years All Ireland Finals while the three runners up will each win 20 stand tickets each….. and the winner is…..From Connacht…. 13 a side Supermacs U12 Championship Final
(Sunday 16th September)
The U12 final was a thrilling match for fans to watch in Ballinaglera and there was nothing between the teams up to the final whistle. At half time Aughawillan led 2-4 to 2-3. In the second half both sides had their chance to take the game, but as the final whistle went there was nothing separating the teams, they were level Aughawillan 2-9 to Glencar Manorhamilton’s 3-6. The tightly contest final went to extra time where the Glencar Manor Girls fought a hard battle to come out on top Scóring 1-2 to Aughawillans one point. Final score 4-8 to 2-10.
Derbhla Rooney Captain of the Glencar Manorhamilton side, thanked Aughawillan and said she had never played such a tough match in her life before!

Connacht GAA Bursary Awards 201213
GeneralConnacht GAA Bursary Awards 2012/13
Connacht GAA, in support of the National Student Bursary Scheme, will award bursaries of €750 to students attending Higher Education colleges as part of its ongoing commitment to Player Welfare.
The scheme, which is now in its sixth year, will be open to members of the Association who are attending a full-time Higher Education course and who are active participants in their Higher Education club. Students who hold other GAA-related or a college scholarship/bursary will not be eligible to apply.
Connacht GAA welcomes applications from those students in our province, (Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon & Sligo), regardless whether their attendance is at a college inside or outside of Connacht”.
Each bursary granted will be for €750 and payment will be made annually in two instalments of €375. Further information and application forms for this years scheme are currently available to download from www.connachtgaa.ie.
Senior Intercounty players who were on their Countys Senior Panel in 2012 should apply for Bursaries via the Gaelic Players Association; further information at www.gaelicplayers.com.
