Club HurlingStephen Dorrigan U13 Hurling Tournament
The Stephen Dorrigan Under 13 Hurling Tournament took place last Saturday with Carrick, Ballinamore, Gortletteragh and Cluainin Iomaint Hurling Clubs all participating and displayed great hurling skills. St. Mary’s Hurling Club won the tournament and they were captained by the very skillful Lee McManus who will be a hurler to watch in the future. All hurlers from the four clubs received medals for their participation in the tournament.
Under 16 Championship
Cluainin Iomaint played Ballinamore last Thursday in Drumkeerin. In perfect conditions for hurling both teams fought hard in the first half with Cluainin missing some vital scores from frees. Ballinamore grew with confidence as the game progressed and were 1.03 to 0.01 ahead by half time. In the second half it was one-way-traffic as Ballinamore dominated in the main positions with Kevin Mullen fielding some spectacular catches with great support from Aaron McLoughlin, Niall McGovern, Aaron Hoare, James Hamill and Darren Maxwell. Best for Manor were Peter Poniard, Andrew Loughlin, Stephen Loughlin and the hard working Mathew Kerrigan. A special thanks to the Drumkeerin GAA club for the use of their pitch which was ideal for hurling and is a credit to their club.
