    Fixtures/Results Service

As you are by now aware, there is a technical difficulty beyond our control regarding the excellent fixtures/result service normally available on the website. In the interim, thanks to the hard work of our IT Officer Brendan Doyle, the fixtures/results may be accessed through this link. Apologies once again, but the matter is beyond the control of Leitrim GAA. Hopefully it will be rectified shortly.

    League Division 3 Round 3

    Armagh 2-10 Leitrim 2-08

We visited the Morgan Athletics Ground Armagh in our round 3 fixture on Sunday last. The game itself was a battle, a very physical encounter with the teams on even scores after twenty minutes on a scoreline of 3 points to a goal. Armagh then pulled away from us slightly and the half time score was 1-2 to 1-5 in favour of the home team. The second half continued just as the game had started.  We had a very intense game on our hands with an Armagh player seeing the line after a red card offence and we were punished ourselves with a player being sent to the sin bin for 10 minutes. With three minutes to go Leitrim had closed the gap with some powerful work all over the field and there was only two points in the difference between us and our northern counterparts. Just another kick of the ball could have been the winning of the game for us but this wasn’t to be and the final score last Sunday reads Armagh 2-10 Leitrim 2-8. We now have a weeks break in  Bord Gaisgames and our next fixture is against Westmeath at home on the 4th of March. A big thanks to all our supporters who travelled up from Leitrim for the game. Also thanks to the grounds people and caterers in Morgan Athletics grounds for providing refreshments for the team after the game.
