Drumkerrins epic second half performance wins them the under 16 15 aside championship final in Fenagh last Saturday. In the early stages of this game it was score for score with points from Drumreillys Dylan Mimna and Mark Plunkett and Drumkerrins Jamie Langan Scóring 1 from play and 1 from a free. Drumreilly edged ahead again with a Mark Plunkett free followed by another Drumreilly free put over this time by Gary Plunkett. Minutes later came the first of the LanganÓgoal spree when Jamie hit the net after some good team play and this was quickly followed by another Drumkerrin free again put over by Langan. Drumreilly again hit back with two more points from Gary Plunkett, 1 from play and the other a free, with the sides now level it seemed all to play for and just before half time Drumkerrin edged ahead with a Langan free sending the sides in with Drumkerrin ahead by the minimum on a scoreline of 1-04 to 0-06. Shortly after the restart their lead was quickly cut with a StephenÓgilheaney point but then on 6 and a half minutes LanganÓgot his second goal and five minutes later got his third. At this stage it was all Drumkerrin with great team work all over the field, in the following five minutes Langan put over three more points, 2 from play and a free, he was just on fire and could do no wrong. Drumreilly kept battling but there was no way through the Drumkerrin defence for them as they continued to pop over the scores with another Langan point from play and a point from Sean o Grady, in the final five minutes James Gallagher scored two points and Ciaran Hicky also got his name on the scoresheet with a fine point from play. Shortly before the final whistle Drumreilly got a late consolation point courtesy of Sean Fox. Joyful scenes followed the final whistle as Drumkerrin added the championship title to the league title they won earlier in the year and to whom we extend our congratulations.

Gallogly Catering Division 1 League Final
Club FootballGlencar Manorhamilton captured back to back Senior League and Championship Doubles when they defeated Annaduff by one point in the Gallogly Catering Division 1 League Final in Ballinamore on Saturday 13/11/10.
Annaduff came very close to bringing off a major shock and they led this contest all the way from the 11th minute. Approaching injury time they looked a certain bet for the title but it was in this period of play that the champions displayed their never say die attitude to shoot four unanswered points. The North Leitrim team only secured their victory in the sixth minute of injury time when they went ahead for the first time in the match. Annaduff did push forward in a bid to get the equaliser which they would have thoroughly deserved but it was not to be and the Glencar Manor men held on to win despite getting one hell of a fright. If Annaduff are to take any consolation from the defeat it will be that they had the champions at sixes and sevens for long periods of the game and during 2010 they have made tremendous progress which saw them reach this Division 1 League final and the semi final of the championship. If they can push on from this, they will surely be a team to watch in the seasons ahead. We extend congratulations to Glencar Manorhamilton on their victory on a scoreline of 0-10 to 0-9.

U21 A Championship Final Report
Club FootballThe scoreline might suggest a comfortable win for the Eslin/Mohill combination but this was a game that swung one way then the other and looked to be heading for extra time until a goal with 7 minutes remaining transformed the contest. The goal for St Manachan’s was followed by three fabulous unanswered points which ended St Mary’s hopes of adding to their Minor A crown won last September. This was a highly entertaining game played by two fully committed and talented teams. When both teams had their periods of dominance – they both looked a class apart but ultimately when St Manachan’s scored that all important goal – they didn’t sit back, they pushed on and although St Mary’s tried desperately to respond – the heads were visibly down. The age profile of both teams is quite young so we can expect to see them acquainting themselves at this grade over the next few years and with a number of players on both sides putting inÓgreat individual performances, we as a County can hope to see them display their skills on a bigger stage! Congratulations to St Manachan’s on a fully deserved victory.
