We are very pleased to inform you that it has been announced by TG4 that the Connacht Gold SFC Final, which takes place on Sunday, October 17th, will be one of the feature matches on that day’s live transmission of GAA Beo.

This eagerly awaited contest between holders Mohill and challengers Ballinamore Sean O Heslin’s will throw in on the day at 3.45pm from Avant Money Páirc Seán Mac Diarmada.

At the most recent meeting of the Leitrim GAA Management Committee held on 09.09.2021, it was decided that for all remaining knockout games of the Smith Monumentals IFC admission would be by pre-purchased ticket only. (It should be noted that the only exceptions to what lies below will be the relegation final which will be a cash-on-the-day event).
The details are as follows:
Smith Monumentals IFC Quarter Finals and Semi-Finals
Tickets for General Admission will be priced at €10 each with no concessions for Students/OAPs and Under 16s will be admitted FOC.
Smith Monumentals IFC Final
Tickets for General Admission will be priced at €15 each with no concessions for Students/OAPs and Under 16s will be admitted FOC.
Given that it is hoped that all games will be played at Avant Money Páirc Seán Mac Diarmada and given its rated capacity, it is considered safe to place these games on general sale to the public and while doing so, we expect to safely remain within the 50% capacity government restriction placed on sporting venues since September 6th last.

As regards admission of Players/Officials, it was also decided that each participating club in any of these fixtures will submit in advance to the Secretary of Leitrim GAA a list not exceeding 40 names of players/officials who will gain admittance to the venue. This list will be checked off by the stewards on duty on any given day. No admittance without a pre-purchased ticket will be given to any person unless he/she is on this list.

It is imperative to note that there will be no tickets on sale at the Matchday Venue

To mark the culmination of the Electric Ireland GAA Minor Championships, Electric Ireland, in partnership with the GAA, has opened nominations for the 2021 Electric Ireland GAA Minor Special Recognition Awards, which will champion the outstanding off-the-pitch contributions of two Minor players during 2021.

The two unique Electric Ireland GAA awards will take into consideration the difficulties experienced this year by players and communities across the country and will see Electric Ireland recognise Minors who have gone above and beyond in their community during the challenges of Covid-19 – with one Minor honoured in each code – one hurler & one footballer.

The Electric Ireland GAA Minor Special Recognition Awards will be open to GAA players of Minor age at both club and county level and aim to bring a major moment back into this age group’s lives. Having missed out on a host of coming-of-age moments over the past eighteen months, the award will recognise that what these Minors have been doing for their communities during the Covid-19 pandemic, truly is major.

To nominate an extraordinary contribution made by a Minor during the course of the year, simply visit https://www.electricireland.ie/MinorAwards. Nominations can be made by any individual, parent, guardian, volunteer, club official or county official individual or sporting body. Nominations for the awards will close at 5pm sharp on September 1st, 2021.

We believe it is incredibly important to recognise the major impact of this brilliant age group, particularly in what has been an extremely challenging year for all.

Please do let us know if you have any questions or queries regarding the awards and the nomination process. You can also view the 2020 Special Recognition Award winners here.

Leitrim GAA has begun the process of recruiting its Senior Football Team Manager for 2022. An email has been sent to all Leitrim GAA Clubs inviting them to consider possible nominations of suitably qualified personnel. The Club is advised that they must have the permission of the person they may choose to nominate, before doing so.

In addition to this, Leitrim GAA Management Committee, through its Selection Committee, invites applications from persons who may have an interest in the position. Interested parties should apply in writing and submit a CV with details of coaching qualifications, details of previous GAA Management experience, and any other details that the candidate may consider relevant for consideration by email to secretary.leitrim@gaa.ie by Friday, August 27th. Additional detail of a possible backroom team that may accompany any such application is desirable but not necessary. Any queries with regard to this process may be addressed via email to the secretary.

The Selection Committee will give all nominations and applications fair consideration as part of the ongoing process in the selection of Leitrim GAA’s next Senior Football Manager.
