PODCASTS – generating alot of interest
GeneralThe podcast section was originally planned for next month but due to the wonderful achievement of the Ladies Team I couldnt resist the opportunity to capture the golden moments in audio format and so Ive released this new section ahead of schedule.
This pre-release has proved very effective as there has been a large numbers of visitors visiting the podcast area and downloading the audio files.
The overall aim is to provide regular audio clips for you to listen to online or for you to download and play back at a time that suits you on a device that suits you. Regular podcasts will be produced covering all areas of interest to visitors to this site. All podcasts are created in MP3 format as it is the most widely accepted and compatibale audio format.
I would like to thank the local radio stations and commentators covering Leitrim for their permission to use their material to create the podcasts related to the Ladies All Ireland win. We are not finished with the Ladies podcasts yet as more interviews are expected on local radio over the weekend and I intend publishing them on this site.
While a small number of gaa related audio files are available from Radio Stations I believe, from the limited research Ive performed, that Leitrim GAA is the first County GAA site to produce and provide its own podcasts. A quick search has shown that we are the number 1 site onÓgoogle for gaa podcasts !

The Leitrim ladies team will continue their homecoming tour tomorrow (Friday) with the following schedule:
8.00pm Kinlough

A final tour visit is planned on Saturday evening and will finish in Fenagh with a fund raising event organised by Fenagh GAA.
The girls have also been busy bringing the All Ireland Intermediate Mary Quinn Cup to schools during the week and by tomorrow they hope to have visited the vast majority of the countys 42 primary schools. The remaining schools will also be visited as soon as possible. Appropriately the first visit was at Cloone National School at 9.00am on Tuesday morning and this morning they started in Manorhamilton and Kinlough.
The residents of the OCarolan Nursing Home in Mohill were delighted when captain Sinead Brennan and some of her team mates made a surprise visit with the cup on Tuesday.

Last nights schedule
LadiesThe Ladies County Board would like to apologise on behalf of the players when their homecoming tour went off schedule last night. Due to unforeseen circumstances the team were delayed in starting the tour in Drumshanbo. Consequently fans in Kiltyclogher and Kinlough were left disappointed as the massive crowds that turned out for photographs and autographs ensured that the schedule fell further behind.
However we can to confirm a team visit will take place to both Kinlough and Kiltyclogher in the next couple of days and I will be able to confirm later tonight when that will take place.
Again many thanks to all of the supporters who came out to welcome home the team.
