Our Vhi GAA Cul camps will commence on next Monday, July 2nd and we are looking forward to seeing all our budding young stars. Parents are reminded that they can still register for the camps.

The following is the full list of our Vhi Cul camps for this year.

Congrats to Jamie Stenson from Eslin who was the winner of the free place in last weeks Observer competition. Jamie will be attending our camp in Mohill. Check out this weeks competition and you could be our next winner. John Mc Keon and Sinead Brennan will be our Vhi Cul camp ambassadors for 2007 and along with other members of our County teams will visit the camps to meet the children and have a chat.

Under 14 Football School of Excellence
Their will be no school of excellence this weekend due to the National Feile. The School will recommence on Saturday week. Check out next week’s paper for details or contact Terry McManus 071-9855658 or Thomas Keenan 087-6591049.

Feile Peil na nÓg
Best of luck to all Leitrim clubs, boys and girls, taking part in Feile Peil na nÓg, this weekend. We would encourage everybody to go out to the games in your club area, attend the parade or the finals on Sunday and make the event a success for Leitrim.

Our New Stand
Could not but mention the new stand facility in Pairc Sean. This is a superb facility, not alone for spectators but also for players, media and the County in general. Congrats to all concerned with this venture from start to finish. Now it’s the turn of all Leitrim supporters to ensure that this Facility is paid for, so if you have not already donated, don’t wait to be asked, give what ever you can afford and lets show the rest of the Country how we can do things in Leitrim.

National Hurling Blitz weekend
The weekend of 25-26/08/07 has been designated National hurling Blitz weekend and Leitrim will host a blitz for weaker Counties at under 14 level. Full details will be published during the next few weeks.

Summer camps
Their will be four all hurling summer camps during August as follows.
Manorhamilton …….. 30/07 to 01/08
Ballinamore ……….. 07/08 to 09/08
Carrick ……………… 13/08 to 15/08
Mohill ……………… 20/08 to 22/08

Camps will be open to boys and girls and the cost will be € 25 per person.

Feile na nÓg
Congrats to Manorhamilton under 14 hurlers and their coach Micheal Dolan who represented Leitrim at the National Hurling feile held in Kilkenny last weekend.

We would appeal to all parents to please return their application forms as we need to adjust our order for kits. We will not be in a position to guarantee kit size’s if applications are not sent in as soon as possible. Children should also keep listening to local radio and checking the local papers as Free Places competitions will commence shortly. [b]Under 14 Football School of Excellence[/b]
Our under 14 school of excellence for 2007 will continue on Saturday next, 23/06 with a session in Drumkeerin at 11.00 am. All players who have attended over the last two week’s trial are asked to return.

[b]Under 16 County Team[/b]
Our County under 16 team will commence their Ted Webb competition on Sunday evening next at 5pm in Pairc Sean. We would like to wish players and management the very best in both the Ted Webb and Father Manning competitions.

Hurling News

[b]Club Twinning[/b]
Under the new twinning project to assist clubs from the weaker Counties, Manorhamilton have been twinned with Padraig Pearses from Galway, with St.Marys twinned with Ballygar also from Galway. Both clubs are reminded that they must submit application to Connacht Council office before they travel to Galway, and are required to have their first meeting during June.

[b]Connacht Hurling Feile[/b]
On Saturday next our under 14 hurling school of excellence panel will travel to NUIG to take part in an under 14 feile. Players and clubs will be contacted during the week with details of training and travel arrangements.
