Here are 15 of the possible permutations as we head for the finale of Divison 2A !
After the conclusion of Round 7 teams in first (Monaghan confirmed) and second places will contest League Semi-Final and earn place in Division 2 2008. Teams in third and fourth places will have qualified for Division 3 2008 and teams in fifth-eight places will be in Division 4 2008 and play in Tommy Murphy Cup 2007.
1. If Leitrim and Roscommon both win next Sunday, score difference will decide second and third, at the moment Leitrim are four points behind Roscommon.
2. If Leitrim and Roscommon both draw Roscommon will finish second and Leitrim third on score difference.
3. If Leitrim draw and Roscommon lose Leitrim will finish second.
4. If there are wins for Monaghan, Roscommon and Clare next weekend, Offaly, Longford, Carlow and London will play in TM Cup and Division 4 2008. Leitrim and Clare will play in Qualifiers 2007 and League Division 3 2008, with Monaghan and Roscommon playing in Division 2 2008.
5. If there are wins for Offaly, Longford and Monaghan, then Roscommon, Leitrim, Longford and Offaly will be tied on eight points each and playoffs will be required to decide who qualifies for Division 2(one team), Division 3(two teams) and Division 4(one team) from among these four.
6. If all three games finish level, Roscommon will finish second, Leitrim third and playoffs will be required to separate Longford/Clare/Offaly to decide one reaming place in Division 3 2008 and two remaining places in Division 4 2008 and TM Cup 2007
7. If Offaly/Roscommon and Longford/Clare matches are both drawn then Leitrim will finish second if victorious over Monaghan, with Roscommon finishing third and playoffs will be required to decide the separation of Clare, Longford and Offaly
8. If Offaly/Roscommon and Longford/Clare matches are both drawn then Leitrim will finish third if losing/drawing versus Monaghan, with Roscommon finishing second on score difference in the event of a Leitrim draw and playoffs will be required to decide the separation of Clare, Longford and Offaly.
9. If Longford/Clare draw and there are wins for Leitrim and Offaly, then Leitrim will finish second, Roscommon/Offaly third/fourth with Clare, Longford, Carlow and London playing in Division 4 2008 and TM Cup 2007.
10. If Longford/Clare draw and there are wins for Monaghan and Offaly, then Leitrim, Roscommon and Offaly will be tied for second place and playoffs will be required to determine the remaining one place in Division 2 and the two remaining places in Division 3 with Clare, Longford, Carlow and London playing in Division 4 2008 and TM Cup 2007.
11. If Offaly/Roscommon draw and there are wins for Leitrim and Longford then Leitrim will finish second, Roscommon third, Longford fourth with Offaly, Clare, Carlow and London playing in TM Cup 2007 and Division 4 2008
12. If Offaly/Roscommon draw and there are wins for Monaghan and Longford then Leitrim will finish fourth, Longford third, Roscommon second and Monaghan first with Offaly, Clare, Carlow and London playing in TM Cup 2007 and Division 4 2008.
13. If Offaly/Roscommon draw and there are wins for Leitrim and Longford then Leitrim will finish second, Roscommon third, Longford fourth with Offaly, Clare, Carlow and London playing in TM Cup 2007 and Division 4 2008.
14. If there are wins for Monaghan, Longford and Roscommon: Monaghan & Roscommon in Div. 2 with Leitrim and Longford in Division 3 2008 and the remainder in Division 4.
15. If there are wins for Monaghan, Clare and Roscommon, Monaghan and Roscommon will play in Division 2 2008, Leitrim and Clare will play in Division 3 2008 with Longford, Offaly, Carlow and London playing in TM Cup 2007 and Division 4 2008.
Most of the possible combinations of results are included above. Overall the positionÓgoing into the last round would suggest that the best possible scenario for Leitrim is that a win/draw next Sunday will guarantee at least Division 3 football in 2008 with the possibility of a Division 2 League semi-final on Saturday week and Division 2 2008 depending on the combination of the Leitrim/Monaghan and Offaly/Roscommon results.
The worst possible scenario after the combination of the results of all of the games next weekend is that Leitrim will be guaranteed at least a playoff to decide the remaining places in Divisions 3 & 4 2008 and the last place in the TM Cup. See Permutations 5 & 10 above.
The 2008 League Divisions will look as follows:
Division One
Donegal, Mayo, Kerry, Tyrone, Galway, Kildare, Derry, Laois
Division Two
Dublin, Cork, Westmeath, Armagh, Cavan, Meath, Monaghan
& One from Roscommon/Leitrim/Longford/Offaly/Clare
Division Three
Limerick, Fermanagh, Louth, Down, Wexford, Sligo
& Two from Roscommon/Leitrim/Longford/Offaly/Clare
Division Four
Carlow, London, Wicklow, Antrim, Tipperary, Waterford
& Two from Roscommon/Leitrim/Longford/Offaly/Clare

First Ready Steady Play programme a big success
LadiesI learned that any little bit of help is appreciated. Don t be afraid to offer a hand.
This is a quote from one of the 33 new volunteers who participated in Ready..Steady..Play, the new volunteer recruitment programme of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association.
Leitrim was host to the delivery of the first Ready..Steady..Play Programme. Three courses took place over the weekend of the 31st March with 4 clubs represented; Sean O Heslins (Ballinamore), Cloone, St. Josephs and Gortletteragh. Thirty three new volunteers participated in the programme which proved a huge success among both the new volunteers and current mentors within the clubs.
A number of courses will take place throughout Leitrim over the coming weeks, which should prove beneficial to the preparations of the host of Feile Peil na nÓg 2007.

London 0-10
NFL Division 2A
Leitrim grabbed the all-important brace of points they urgently needed to further complicate the closing stages of Division 2A but they were put to the pin of their collar by London.
The game was level eight times as both sides tried might and main to pull away.
With the scores tied at 0-10 each and the game going into time added on Leitrims top scorer Ciaran Duigan took a huge hand in the outcome when he tapped over two meticulous points from play and one from a free during the four minutes that were added on to put Dessie Dolans men in the best possible position for their last game against Monaghan.
But before Leitrim made their winning move, they were given a severe test by London who played their best football of the season.

Ladies News
LadiesTrip to Tipp for Leitrim Ladies:
An early start on Easter Sunday for the Leitrim ladies as they travel to Templemore on Sunday for the league quarter final against Tipperary at 1.00pm. The team will be hoping to rediscover last year’s form as the business end of the seasonÓgets underway. They have found the going very tough in the league to date with just a single win over Limerick but this win retained Division 2 status for another year the first goal of the season. Tipperary enjoyed a much better campaign with three wins against Wexford, Down and Roscommon and a draw against Longford to top Division 2B. Tipperary have been progressing steadily in recent years and were crowned Division 3 champions in addition to securing the Munster Championship title two years ago. The teams last met in competitive action in Division 3 of the National League seven years ago where Leitrim enjoyed a 1.18 to 1.03 victory in Annaduff and indeed went on to win the title defeating Galway in the final. Sunday’s game will be a difficult test for a Leitrim team who will need to improve on previous performances if they are to progress in the competition.
Annaduff Credit Union Under 14 Championship:
A total of 16 teams have entered the 2007 championship with two competitions at 11 and 7 a side. The competitions get underway on Saturday morning next.
Under 14 and Under 16 County teams:
Trials for the county under 16 team will take place on Saturday at 12.00pm in Drumkeerin. All clubs have been notified to send players. Trials will also take place for the under 14 team next weekend with details to be confirmed. Clubs will be notified during the week.
All Ireland Final:
Congratulations to the Ballinamore PPS Junior team who won the Connacht Schools ‘C’ Title on Monday last and followed that up on Friday with a wonderful semi final win over Callan of Kilkenny to qualify for the All Ireland Final. Featuring players from Sean O’Heslins, Aughnasheelin, Aughawillan, Fenagh and St Josephs clubs this is a great achievement for the school and Leitrim. Congratulations to all of the players and management and best of luck in the final.
All Ireland Final 2:
Congratulations to all the Leitrim clubs that swept the boards at the Connacht final on Saturday evening last in Ballinamore. Well done in particular to county players Amanda Sweeney from Glencar Manor and Anna Conlan from Dromahair who achieved success in the figure dancing and instrumental music.
