TG4 All Ireland Junior Semi Final
Leitrim 1-17 Longford 1-8
The TG4 All-Ireland ladies junior football final will be an all Connacht affair after Leitrim set up a meeting with neighbours Sligo following a semi-final victory over Longford at Hyde Park on Saturday.
Leitrim produced a sensational second half performance to overwhelm a Longford side who were looking good for the first twenty minutes of the game. Longford, minus star player Sharon Treacy because of injury, led 1-5 to 0-6 at half-time with the goal coming from a 20th minute Denise Murtagh penalty. The Leinster side started the second half positively and points by Murtagh and Edel Quinn extended their advantage to leave a goal between the sides after 34 minutes. However, they failed to score again until the 53rd minute during which time a rampant Leitrim side hit 1-9 without reply. Leitrim were simply unstoppable during that period ? winning pretty much every ball and Longford couldn?t get outside their own 45 metre line.
Sinead Quinn started the Scóring spree with a 36th minute point to leave it 0-7 to 1-7. Quinn and Mary McKeown tagged over a point apiece inside the next two minutes to leave the minimum between the sides before Lorraine Brennan rattled home the all important goal. The Cloone girl gathered possession just around the 14 metre line and as she ran through she unleashed an unstoppable shot to the top right hand corner of the Longford goal in the 40th minute.
It was the first time Leitrim led in the match after chasing Longford from the off but once they took control there was only ever going to be one winner. Player of the match Eimear McGlade, Quinn (3), Aoife Kelly and Maeve Quinn all scored points over the next seven minutes to put Leitrim out of reach with a 1-15 to 1-7 lead in the 52nd minute. A converted free by Murtagh ended Longford?s drought a minute later but it was too little too late as Mary McKeon and Ann Marie Cox added further points to ensure a well deserved win.
Leitrim: Louise Loughlin, Emer Kelly, Sinead Brennan, Mairead Stenson, Teresa Mylott, Eimear McGlade (0-2), Amanda Sweeney, Maeve Quinn (0-1), Sarah McLoughlin, Mary McKeon (0-2), Lorraine Brennan (1-0), Sharon Kerrigan (0-1), Aoife Kelly (0-2), Sinead Quinn (0-6), Ann Marie Cox (0-3) Subs: Carla Creegan for Amanda Sweeney, Anna Conlan for Sharon Kerrigan, Emer Horan, Alanah Bohan, Erin Farrell, Naomi Faughnan, Phillipa Maguire, Camilla McDonagh, Lisa McGowan, Michelle McNulty, Claire Owens, Eilis Quinn.

Coaching Courses
Our level one coaching course will commence at the end of October. Any person with foundation level completed should try and complete level one, as a new coach education format will be in place for next year.
Foundation level courses will be run as requested by clubs and can be regional or club based depending on numbers.
Under 17 development Squad.
It is planned to set up an under 17 development squad early in October. This squad would then help form our minor squad for 2007. It would be envisaged that those in charge of this squad would form the minor management for 2007. If this is acceptable to the Board we would hope that a management team could be put in place now rather than at the start of 2007 and be ratified at a special meeting if necessary.
Ladies Success
Finally congrats must go to our ladies on reaching the All Ireland Junior final. All involved in coaching wish them well in the final.

Ladies Intermediate 9 a Side Final
Club FootballLadies Intermediate 9 a Side Final
St Marys 3-05
Glencar Manor 1-05
St Marys celebrated a rare ladies adult title in Drumshanbo on Sunday morning as they defeated a weakened Glencar Manor team in the final of the 9 a side league. It was a deserved title for Marys who worked hard throughout the game with the accuracy of Ceara Firzpatrick, the defending of Lorraine Guckian and the workrate of the McWeeney sisters a feature of the game. Glencar Manor were without the Cleary sisters and injuries to Grainne O?Connor and Siobhan Feehily did not help their cause but Mary Poinard had a fine game in the middle and was supported well by Emer O?Connor and Marie Clerkin.
Glencar Manor attacked first and had a goal chance blocked well by Lorraine Guckian in the first minute. Two minutes later Lauraine Walpole hit a shot wide as St Marys began to settle into the game. Sinead McWeeney was unlucky as she hit a first time shot narrowly wide. After six minutes St Marys were awarded a 45 and a quick one two resulted in an unstoppable shot to the net by Michelle Glancy. Two minutes later Ceara Fitzpatrick opened her account with a good point from play and she was involved in another attack a minute later but her shot hit the crossbar and was cleared to safety. With Sinead McWeeney dominating midfield her sister Cait hit a fine point from play to put St Marys further in front at the half way stage. Glencar Manor had a chance to open their account but Marie Clerkins shot went narrowly wide. With eight minutes remaining St Marys went eight points up as Enya McWeeney hit a second great goal from distance. Glen Car Manor responded immediately when a great ball over the top to Siobhan Feehily was hit over for a fine point. Two minutes later Catriona Love was on hand to hit the net as Bernadette Glancy found a Feehily effort too hard to control to bring Manor back into the game. St Marys had three chances to increase their lead at the break but a combination of poor finishing and good defending kept the score at 2-2 to 1-1 at the break.
St Marys went further in front at the restart with a Fitzpatrick free. Sub Ciara Watters reduced the lead with a point from play and a free as Manor were dealt a blow with an injury to Siobhan Feehily. With Manor gaining more confidence a great defensive display from Lorraine Guckian prevented two certainÓgoals with some great tackling. Fitzpatrick added to her tally midway through the half with another pointed free. A combination of Glancy in the goals and Guckian prevented another certain Manor goal as on the counter attack Fitzpatrick hit another point from play. With five minutes remaining Fitzpatrick sealed a good personal performance with a fine goal from play. Glencar Manor tried hard in the last few minutes to rescue the game and were rewarded with two points from Janette Maguire and Dympna Boylan but it was too little to late as St Marys celebrated a rare title.
St Marys: Bernadette Glancy, Lorraine Guckian, Cait McWeeney, Claire Greene, Michelle Glancy, Sinead McWeeney, Niamh Flynn, Ceara Fitzpartick, Enya McWeeney.
Glencar Manor: Claire Gallaghe, Aisling Kerrigan, Emer O?Connor, Grainne O?Connor, Mary Poinard, Marie Clerkin, Lauraine Walpole, Siobhan Feehily.
