Club Planning and Development
CoachingAt the 2003 Congress an tUachtarain Sean Uas O?Ceallaigh made some major changes to committee structures.
The primary aim of this committee is to conduct an audit of each club and assist them in their efforts to address any issues by providing both club and officer training.
To this end Leitrim County Development Committee actively encourage all clubs to participate in this very worthwhile programme.
The recent Seminar attended by all clubs and officers has had a very positive impact with a number of clubs already willing to participate.
Officer Training will form part of this programme and with this in mind this news column will carry the dates for clubs to follow. Also appearing weekly in this column will be an outline of the qualities, duties etc of individual club officers starting this week with An Cathaoirleach.

CoachingThis ( tonight)Wednesday night 23rd February 2005 sees the clubs of our county coming together for an Information Seminar on the Comhairle Programme in the Bush Hotel, Carrick on Shannon starting at 8.00 pm.
The aim of the programme is to enable club members take ownership of their clubs by participating in the process of planning for the club?s future. The programme will encourage clubs to plan in a systematic way to meet their short term and long term needs while also seeking to encourage more members to become actively involved in the running of the club.
This programme was devised by the National Club Planning and Development committee under the Chairmanship of Pat Fitzgerald of Limerick who will attend this Seminar along with National Co-ordinator Shane Flanagan of Croke Park, Liam O?Neill Leinster Council and Mick Rock Connaught Council.
It is very important that each club have in attendance their Chairperson, Secretary, Development Officer and Club PRO.
?We all have a duty to pass on what we took responsibility for in our club and ensure we leave it in as healthy a state as we were given it or better?.

Leitrim Minors win in Fermanagh
Coiste na nÓgLast Sunday, Mohills Gavin Kelly came off the bench and scored a tally of 2-01 as Leitrim come from four points down at half-time to beat Fermanagh in a challenge match in Derrygonelly.
Leitrim played against a strong gale in the first half and went in at half time 0-06 to 0-02 down. This was a very good defensive performance by the Leitrim lads. Paul Ellis and Emmett Burke stood out at centre back and corner back as they knocked back attack after attack. Stephen Conaty at mid field also showed well.
The second half was a complete turn around as Leitrim took over in mid-field and Kelly hit 2-01 as well as setting up two other goals. Garry Reynolds, Ronan Kennedy and Dermot Reynolds also played well for the men in white and Blue. The Leitrim team fielded in the St Marys strip because of a clash of colours.
